I know the games you like
Lead me to the precious part
And then turn out the light
Anybody, anybody there
My body's anybody there
My body's taking off
My mind is going nowhere
You're of a kind
I've seen that face before
I know, could be on video
Oh, you shake me up
'Cause we don't see eye to eye
And it breaks me up
'Cause we don't see eye to eye
Live a life by your every rule
You don't know how I feel
When I drop the mask of fools
My wounds begin to heal
Then you see me, then you see me fly
So you shoot me down
And ask me for an alibi
You're of a kind...
Chorus
You're of a kind...
Chorus
The lyrics to 220 Volt's song "Eye To Eye" describe a tumultuous relationship between two people who struggle to see things from the same perspective. The singer is torn between their desire for the other person and their frustration with their constant games and inability to understand their point of view. The song's opening lines convey this confusion and torment, with the singer feeling like their heart is being played with and their mind going nowhere.
The chorus emphasizes the main theme of the song, which is the disconnect between the two people's viewpoints. The line "we don't see eye to eye" is repeated several times, underscoring the fact that they can't reconcile their differences. The second verse illustrates the power dynamic at play, with one person living by their own rules and not understanding the other's feelings. However, when the singer reveals their true self, they are shot down and asked for an alibi, betraying a lack of trust in the relationship.
Overall, "Eye To Eye" is a song about a frustrating, toxic relationship where both parties struggle to connect and understand each other. It explores themes of emotional manipulation, power dynamics, and the consequences of not being able to see things from another person's perspective.
