The band performed in the local college scene traveling up and down the coast looking for gigs to play. After the band recorded some demos with Jerry Harrison, a former member of the Talking Heads and Modern Lovers, 2AM Club played a now-legendary four month residency they called "Tiny Porno" at the Derby in Los Angeles, and word quickly spread that it was the place to be. They played the school's band during the Pretty Little Liars episode "There's No Place Like Homecoming", performing "Worry About You" and "Make You Mine" among others.
Worry About You

It's been December, no sun,
No summertime to treasure, we weren't grown
And every time that they told us surrender, it will be better
We just go holding on 'til forever for what we know
Broken lover, yes, I made you
Believe that I would be the one to heal you
I won't say your wrong
But you know that I worry about you
For as long, long as she can remember
She wanted better, no home
No one there to protect her, all alone
And so she told me I was her center
Nothing could tempt her
I still roamed just like her father left her
Ooh, he left her
Broken lover, yes, I made you
Believe that I would be the one to heal you
And if you go now, out that doorway
I won't say your wrong
But you know that I worry about you
Isn't it bad, you been a good victim
You thought I was worth it, you act like I would listen
And maybe you were right at one point, someday
I use to watch you treat the streets like a runway
I use to write with tears coming down your pretty painted face
Sign language on your back from the first taste
So when he whispers in your ear and you think of me
You wish I would've treated you like you treated me
When you wake up from your dreams of the hallway
Sleepwalking through the streets dressed in all gray
Making streetlamps in the windowpane
I worried from the second that I learned your name
Everything in love is lie
But where was I last night?
And why don't you feel right?
Broken lover, yes, I made you
Believe that I would be the one to heal you
And if you go now, out that doorway
I won't say your wrong
But you know that I worry about you
Broken lover, yes, I made you
Believe that I would be the one to heal you
And if you go now, out that doorway
I won't say your wrong
But you know that I worry about you
The song "Worry About You" by 2AM Club tells a story of a broken relationship between two people who have been hurt in the past. The lyrics paint a picture of emotional baggage that they each carry with them, making it difficult for them to connect fully with each other. The opening lines of the song evoke a sense of nostalgia and melancholy, with the singer reminiscing about past Decembers that were devoid of sunshine and summertime pleasures. The reference to holding on "til forever for what we know" suggests a longing for something that is no longer there, a feeling that permeates throughout the song.
As the song progresses, we learn about the struggles of the singer's lover, who has had a tough life growing up without a home or protection. The singer tries to be a source of strength and comfort for her, but realizes that their relationship is not perfect either. The lyrics "Broken lover, yes, I made you, believe that I would be the one to heal you" highlight the singer's guilt for not being able to provide the support and healing that his lover needs.
The song also touches upon themes of self-worth and the impact of past relationships. The lines "Isn't it bad, you been a good victim, you thought I was worth it, you act like I would listen" suggest that the singer's lover has been hurt in the past and has a hard time trusting people. The reference to treating the streets like a runway and the tears on her "pretty painted face" hint at a difficult past that has left a mark on her.
Overall, "Worry About You" is a complex and introspective song that explores the difficulties of love and relationships. It highlights the importance of understanding and supporting each other despite our flaws and past mistakes.
