There is a beat but this is not Hip Hop – at least not as we know it. Yes, there are guitars, but this isn’t folk music anymore. An anonymous voice sings of being lonely within a hundred other voices and there is this music with a new sound, yet, somehow, it still is the old sound – the old loneliness. It is just that now we are listening to it again, for the first time – and we want to listen. Here is the feeling that Hip Hop may have lost. But Aaron himself wouldn’t dare to say these things so loudly. He just sees himself as an arranger or conductor standing in front of an orchestra of forgotten records, waiting for their time to be played.

2econd Class Citizen Lyrics

Picked it up and found it was the joker
Then I thought I heard laughter
The kind you're hearing after
Stories been told and everybody's gone away.
Come to play the card again from someone else's game
Picked it up and found it was the joker
The kind you're hearing after
Stories been told and everybody's gone away.
gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away.
and everybody's gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away. gone away.
One by one
Your lemmings fell off the map and to the quicker death
one by one
children sunk in to beds and dreamt.
But while those worse realities,
Those countless words will make them see
Though their romance
One by one
They line us up for firing squads
And one by one
Our guts will mix like oil paints
To form a grotesque work of art
We never wanted to die young.
Bloom anyhow.
We'll say our extented goodbye's
We hug and loosen, they will cry
Like parents do.
I was once,
The type to sit in chairs for days.
Writing for myself until the pencil shreds
Stabs splinters deep in to fingers.
But nothing ever can read out
Like caveman's writing ...
It's too late to...
One by one we will fall.
One by one we will fall.
Anonymous. The fragments of freedom we once tasted were condiments
Their tormented of boredom has been tossed to the shores of it.
Been a minute since we've tasted the warmth of a porridge instead of our stomachs enormous from bubbling hunger and poisoned bits.
No limit to the sentiments... differences swallowing cannibis.
At the time when we rhyme we turn to high ... ... - that's fine.
Homes in our heads, in our spines long after we die they climb inside ... ... outside our minds like.
One by one
We'll jump off ... to think you'd come
And one by one
We'll be left defend for ourselves
He tells us everything ...
But never tells us to survive
... ...
One by one we will fall, further than depths of awe
Hell in hand baskets holding the hand of a puppet master
We speak when we're spoken to
They teach us for ... or two.
They feed us their decadence, but their hunger's not satisfied
Because of the leeches sucking away at our love of life
We struggle to be an anonymous anomaly
Because everythin gnaws on me crawling beneath my skin it's the mark of the beast.
One by one
They line us up for firing squads
And one by one
Our guts will mix like oi of paints
One by one
We'll jump off ... to think you'd come
And one by one
We'll be left defend for ourselves
The lyrics of "One By One" by 2econd Class Citizen have a sense of melancholic hopelessness, where the singer acknowledges the futility and eventual downfall of humanity, while also emphasizing the importance of individualism and personal identity.
The opening lyrics suggest the singer's vulnerability when they realize they have been dealt the joker card, symbolizing the unpredictability and lack of control in life. The laughter at the end of the stanza could represent the singer's realization that they are not alone in their hardships.
The following lines describe the inevitable fall of civilization, with people dying both in their dreams and in reality. However, the lines, "We never wanted to die young / Bloom anyhow" can be interpreted as a message to make the most of life despite the circumstances. The next stanza, "We'll say our extended goodbyes / We hug and loosen, they will cry / Like parents do" suggests that despite the singer's acceptance of the eventual decline of humanity, they acknowledge the emotional impact it will have on loved ones.
The rest of the lyrics speak to the idea that people are being controlled and turned against each other, leading to the destruction of society and the loss of individualism. The repeated line "One By One we will fall" further emphasizes the inevitability of it all.
