Too Much
3.7 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When there's a ship
Going down for every move you make
And a hum in your head
That's keeping you awake
Your high school heart
Is never satisfied
Kissing complicated ways to die
Little tongues under pressure
All we undermine
Keep your name on your shirt
And enemies inside
Move in closer into focus
Can you see the cracks
I know just how bad
You want it back

[Chorus: ]
Hey look at you now
You're like a flower growing up
From a concrete box
In the bottom of a plastic cup
Wishes you've had
Keep your head up
Because it's never as bad as you think
You think, you think too much
You think, you think, you think too much

Does every laugh seem die
In your gravity
Turns to dust
Do you sing a song and your free(?)
All the anxiousness and worry
In your shoulders tight
I know what we do with that tonight

[Chorus: ]
You might think about this room
Keeps on rolling
Feel the pavement shake beneath you
Pavement giving
Everything we hide
There's a little light inside

[Chorus: ]

Overall Meaning

In the song "Too Much" by 3.7, the lyrics capture the feeling of being stuck in a rut, with a sense of dissatisfaction and restlessness. The first verse depicts the idea that for every move you make, there is a ship going down. This could mean that every decision you make has some consequences, and the risk of failure is always present. The hum in your head that keeps you awake can be interpreted as the inner turmoil and anxiety that keeps you from peacefully sleeping. The second line, "Your high school heart is never satisfied," can be taken to mean that the things you used to want or desire as a teenager don't bring you the same level of satisfaction anymore. Instead, the focus has shifted to new and complicated ways to live and potentially die.

The second verse delves deeper into the underlying issues, with the opening lines asking if every laugh seems to die in your gravity. The weight of the world can make every happy moment seem temporary and fleeting, something that will ultimately come crashing down. The song also touches upon the idea of hiding and keeping enemies inside, perhaps referencing the need to protect oneself from the harmful outside world. As the song progresses, the chorus reassures that things are never as bad as you think, and that you need to keep your head up. The metaphor of a flower growing from a concrete box in the bottom of a plastic cup emphasizes the idea of hope and perseverance despite seemingly unfavorable circumstances.

So I have a 2014 3.7. I’m pretty new to the car world. The mustang is what kinda opened me up into modding out cars, and reaching new heights. I really want to put some work into my car but I don’t exactly know what my next step should be. I have a JLT cold air intake currently and was thinking of getting a Nitrous Express Kit along with a maximizer and MPT tune. Any suggestions or thoughts?

3.7 Mustang can be build really light, and 3.7 have no turbo lag(of course). Instead being a drag car I think our little 3.7 pony can be a build to a great track day car.

i agree, one of my favorite track builds is Glenn's car from V6 MUSTANG PERFORMANCE check it out https://www.youtube.com/user/V6MustangPerformance

Interesting video , everyone keeps saying the 3.7l can handle this much or that much but I haven’t seen a failed engine yet, maybe it’s just me.

It sure is a shame there is no available bolt on and go roots or twin scroll type blowers for our cars. I genuinely feel there is a market there. Something to give out the box 400 rwhp with room to grow for the tuners.

A lot of people wanted to boosted v6, but they got EcoBoost. I'm happy knowing that a 2013 BMW 335i dishes out about the same power a 2013 V6 does, both being NA, where the i6 in BMW is regarded as one of the best 6 cyl engines alongside Boxer engine, so why the hate in the community? people worship 150 bhp Honda but OMG 3.7 Cyclone, what a shitter that is.

joshnc101 it would work with a lift plate and a hole in the hood

Wouldn’t work on these engines. Being a 60 degree v6, the top of the motor is too narrow for a top mounted supercharger.

EveryThingAutomotive ETA the problem with roots or twin scroll is the instant torque. It's hit or miss but similar to a nitrous hit it needs to be controlled. Torque breaks stuff.

You didn't talk about octane rating for what fuel to use but I see JB commented on that.

HP is the best way to judge limits if all things to get there are good within their limits. Fuel octane limits, AFR and timing (tune), and heat are your limits to how hard you can push any engine no matter what the setup is.
