The lyrics of 311's song Soulsucker seem to be about the lead singer's frustrations with a person who seems to constantly try to bring him down, drain his energy and take advantage of him. The first verse talks about how the singer's spirit is strong despite being constantly pushed and the second verse talks about how he's tired of the situation he's in - sick of the bars and the scene. He tells the person to let go of him and stand on their feet, rather than leaning on him. The chorus talks about how "soulsuckers must be circumnavigated" - meaning avoided or dealt with in some way - and that this person cannot "suck my soul". You always try to deceive and manipulate to make it seem like you're not at fault, which is common but it requires effort to remain aware and objective. What's sad is that you keep talking instead of taking action to achieve your goals, and your parasitic behavior is unappealing
