You don't have to be afraid
Though mistakes, they have been made
Journey in peace now
Journey in peace now
You don't have to be afraid
Though mistakes, they will be made
No you can't walk around it
You have to walk right through it
My father told me that so long ago
Every time that you ignore it
It gets a little more you just have to walk toward
The fear to go
Don't be afraid, it's all part of the plan for us
Don't be afraid, it's all part of the plan for us
All that you hold dear
Is on the other side of that fear whoa oh
The lyrics of 311's song Tranquility convey an overarching message of fearlessness in life's journey. The song appears to be a positive and encouraging message of comfort to those who may be struggling with fear and doubt in their daily lives. The repetition of "journey in peace now" seems to emphasize the idea of finding serenity during life's journey, despite inevitable mistakes that will be made along the way. The lyrics urge the listener not to be afraid of these mistakes, assuring them that they are a natural part of life.

Played this song for my dad as he was taking his final breaths! He was in a medical indused coma, due to stage 4 colon cancer! But I was literally wiping sweat with a rag off his forehead as he passed! The song was seconds from ending when he passed, it's a moment with 311 that once again I will always have! This is the most special band in the world to me. RIP dad, 12-21-2018. Peace to all of you and Namaste everyone!
