midnight

Friday night and I'm all alone

(Hi, it's me again. I can't seem to get a hold of you, so, here goes, there's that thing happening at Top Star tonight, and I was wondering, if maybe you would like to go? So, please let me know, gimme a call, or leave a message, whatever)

She loves teddy bears and bunny rabbits
Puppy dogs with dirty habits
Golden hair that flows when she moves
Taller than me in her new designer shoes

(That's ok if you're not gonna come)

I've been thinking about scoring at the midnight drive-in
You're the one I'm adoring at the midnight drive-in
One look at you is inspiring me at the midnight drive-in
The way you leave me smiling at the midnight drive-in

I've been thinking about scoring at the midnight drive-in
You're the one I'm adoring at the midnight drive-in
One look at you is inspiring me at the midnight drive-in
The way you leave me smiling
You know you do
You know you do

(Hey, it's me once again. Pick up. Pick up. Pick up. We can probably still make it if we try, and you don't wanna miss this one, it's a good movie. Call Me)

Taking daddy's girl to the movies tonight
Stars are out, the temperature is right
Hold my hand, it's ok if you scream
Always better on the bigger movie screen (On the bigger movie screen)

I've been thinking about scoring at the midnight drive-in
You're the one I'm adoring at the midnight drive-in
One look at you is inspiring me at the midnight drive-in
The way you leave me smiling at the midnight drive-in

I'm still thinking about scoring at the midnight drive-in
You're the one I'm adoring at the midnight drive-in
One look at you is inspiring me at the midnight drive-in
The way you leave me smiling at the midnight drive-in

I've been thinking about scoring at the midnight drive-in
You're the one I'm adoring at the midnight drive-in
One look at you is inspiring me at the midnight drive-in (Alright, alright)
The way you leave me smiling at the midnight drive-in

I'm still thinking about scoring at the midnight drive-in
You're the one I'm adoring at the midnight drive-in
One look at you is inspiring me at the midnight drive-in
The way you leave me smiling

You know you do

That’s funny cause it’s the first time I hear this song. I discovered a ska band from Tijuana and before I was listening to Jorge Ben Jor and was curious as to what Angolan or Mozambican ska would sound like and here I am.
I guess I’ll be trying to remember this song to give it a listen every couple of years

19yrs later and this song is still magical. Around the time of its release, my twin brother and I, travelled alot in my modified V8 Mercedes 380SEC sports saloon. In the early hours of a 2004 Sunday morning with no traffic on the roads, after another late night of typical bachelor fun and on our way home, this song played on the radio whilst we just quietly cruised. When it ended, I remember we both acknowledging to each other that this song was truly something special and that we'll always value it as a masterpiece. Having that great memory of sharing a special moment with my twin, linked to this song, is priceless.

Late 90s early 2000s, I was little kid I would stay up with my late big brother till 2 AM. SABC 1's Sgubhu Samampela. It ain't nothing like the OLD SCHOOL 💯😌😔

@tonyheather-noon5291

I was kid that time as well, used to sneak into my older brothers room to listen to this on a CD he had. Such a good sound, there was some epic music coming out of this place in that time
