Ain't That a Shame
4 Seasons Lyrics

You made me cry
When you said goodbye
Ain't that a shame?
My tears fell like rain
Ain't that a shame?
Yeah, yeah
Girl, you broke my heart
When you said we'll part
Ain't that a shame?
My tears fell like rain
Ain't that a shame?
You're the one to blame
Yeah, oh c'mon, c'mon
Oh well, goodbye
Although I'll cry
Ain't that a shame?
My tears fell like rain
Ain't that a shame?
You're the one to blame
Shame, shame
C'mon now
Oh well, goodbye
Although I'll cry
Ain't that a shame?
My tears fell like rain
Ain't that a shame?
You're the one to blame
Shame, ain't that a shame?
Shame, ain't that a shame?
Shame, ain't that a shame?
Shame [Incomprehensible]
Shame, ain't that a shame?
The 4 Seasons' song "Ain't That a Shame" delves into the emotions and heartbreak that come with a breakup. The opening line, "Shame, ain't that a shame," repeats throughout the song, emphasizing the idea that the breakup is shameful and unfortunate. The singer expresses his pain and sadness, with tears falling like rain, and blames the girl for breaking his heart. Despite trying to maintain a tough exterior, he admits that he will cry over their parting. The song ends with a repetition of the opening line, emphasizing the shame and sadness that the breakup has brought.
Through its simple lyrics and catchy tune, "Ain't That a Shame" captures the universal feeling of heartbreak and the sadness that follows the end of a relationship. The repetition of the opening line and the chorus throughout the song not only adds to its catchiness, but also reinforces the emotions of shame and sadness that are central to the song's theme.

This is such a damn great sounding song!!!! Thanks for posting and talk about a group putting their own sound, style, and great vocals to a classic song. Man this is awesome.
@calleaestejunior4593
Got to # 22 on Billboard but was rarely played on oldie stations after it fell off the charts. I heard it once around 1990 and it was a local station that had a "Forgotten 45s" type show.
@KingRiverVlogs
I had never even heard this in my whole life until just now. Nobody ever remembers it.

Fats goes falsetto!
@voodoo49
Fats Domino co-wrote this? Didn't he record a big hit song with that name and it was completely different??
@ynpguy
He sure did. Words are the same, but the music is quite different. See Fats' recording here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pszWSJa7o0k
@dennisgallagher
@ynpguy This is the same song, they just ruined it.
