Diving
4 Strings Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Tell me a secret, I'll tell you mine.
Tell me about desires you hide inside
There is so much that we should have done
I was insecure but now I'm strong

Diving whatever it may take, I keep on trying
Diving into you.
Diving knowing it was you I keep on trying
Diving into you

Diving into you

Oh diving, into the blue

We are rising
Celebrate the night
It was you who showed me
How to fly

Diving, whatever it may take, I keep on trying
Diving into you
Diving, knowing it was you I keep on trying
Diving into you

Diving, whatever it may take, I keep on trying
Diving into you

Diving, knowing it was you I keep on trying
Diving into you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in "Diving" by 4 Strings talk about opening up to someone else and divulging secrets to each other. The first two lines ask for a secret to be shared, indicating that the song is about opening up emotionally. The song continues on to mention desires that are hidden inside, suggesting that the secrets spoken of earlier could be about personal yearnings for a deeper connection. The third line, "There is so much that we should have done" implies that the singer and the person they are addressing have a missed opportunity, hinting at a past connection that was not fulfilled. However, the fourth line "I was insecure but now I'm strong" suggests that the singer has grown and evolved since then, now ready for a deeper connection.

The refrain of "Diving" repeats the phrase "diving into you," suggesting that both the singer and the person they are addressing are committed to exploring the depths of their connection. The line "Diving whatever it may take, I keep on trying" suggests a deep commitment to the relationship, even in the face of difficulty. The final chorus changes slightly to "Oh diving, into the blue, we are rising, celebrate the night, it was you who showed me how to fly", showcasing the beauty and celebration of diving further into the relationship and the positive influence the other person has had on the singer's life.

Overall, "Diving" by 4 Strings is a beautiful song about opening up emotionally to a deeper connection, and trusting someone else enough to reveal your secrets and desires. The chorus with its repetition of the phrase, "diving into you" emphasizes the idea of taking the plunge with someone and sticking by them through the ups and downs.

Wow!

I'm from Louisiana. So, I was in the Los Angeles area back in 1997 visiting my dad's family. I tuned the radio and was surprised and ecstatic to find a radio station playing techno/trance! I just knew I needed to live in a bigger city because we had nothing like that where I was. It was just pop and R&B.

The internet came out and I was able to satisfy all of my trance music needs with downloads and making CDs to listen to in the car.

Damn I should have lived in California to experience this :D

Trance is perhaps the most emotional genre in electronic music. It can make you want to burst out cheering or start crying for no reason. It has the power to instill pure bliss into the listener... Awesome!

@shatteredxangel

I've always had a strong emotional reaction to vocal trance music. And there's a reason for that, actually. Most vocal trance, even going back to its earliest origins as Eurodance, are usually written in minor keys. Minor keys, historically, evoke sad feelings and generally make the listener emotional. In modern music, use of minor keys tends to lend itself to stronger emotions overall.

[Edit] Diving is written in Bβ™ Minor, in case you were wondering.

@@geplayer > party drugs exist to highten that euphoria that brain is already experiencing
Exactly! I never understood people who went to parties just to make drugs. For me it's only a spice. If I don't like the music, drugs won't save the day. It's going to be a boring party and I always regret the money I spend the nest morning lol

@crashx8576

Trance is the best style

@JazzySkyoo7

I could not have said this better. I can go right back to when I first heard this track at club space in the early 2000’s and fall into a trance 🫢🏽

I also was listening to this kind of music when I was in High School. Then again, it was 2012-15 when I attended.

@johndean2110

My friends don't like this, but I love it! Listen to what you like, don't worry about the random opinion of others.😊
