Yo
7. Taivas Lyrics

Solo queda decirte
Culpable soy yo
Culpable soy yo
Culpable soy yo
The lyrics in 7. Taivas's song "Yö" (meaning "night" in Finnish), talk about a relationship that has come to an end. The singer is breaking up with their partner and confessing their guilt about the situation. The song starts with them saying "Se terminó lo nuestro" which translates to "It's over between us" and they plan to say goodbye in as few words as possible to avoid any further problems between them. The singer expresses that they will die of love because their heart is so wounded and they could not open themselves up to the love of their partner.
The singer blames themselves for their partner's disappointment and states that they are guilty. The lyrics suggest that there was someone else who came into the picture and took away their partner's desires, their skin that tingled during lovemaking, their face, and their dreams. The singer packs their dreams and decides to leave behind the laughter of their partner which once enveloped them. Despite the pain, they have to move on with their lives.
Overall, the song depicts the conflicting emotions of love and loss, guilt, and the need to move forward after the end of a relationship.

Mukavia muistoja, mahtava biisi.

There are lots of connotations loaded in this song that are not easily translated in English. However, when Jussi Hakulinen wrote song, he was still a teenager, in his high school years, or immediately after them. (I lived in Pori back then, Hakulinen was my brother's friend.) The text presents unbelievable maturity for such a young boy! Where did he get these ideas from? Other dudes of that age were mending their old cars and trying to learn to flirt to girls.

Old soul, maybe?
