Overall Meaning

In "Fugitive," 9flip6 expresses a feeling of frustration with a romantic partner. I saw this movie when it first came out in theaters. There was a line around the block and the atmosphere inside the theater was electric. Absolutely packed theater. People were standing in the stairwell - sitting in the stairwell - to watch the movie. Packed to the brim. Before the movie even started - just a buzz in the crowd - people randomly yelling stuff out in the crowd - people laughing. Just a pure fun energy. Community. Having fun together. During the train scene, when he jumps out of the way to safety and the train finally stops, there was a pause in the theater, then the entire audience erupted in applause and cheering and clapping. Then everyone had a huge laugh together because we all realized that we were all completely gripped in the excitement and tension of the movie. I remember it like it was yesterday - will never forget it. Back then before Netflix, you could only catch a movie in theaters so movies really meant something... Ah man.... so much fun. Miss those days.

There really is something magical about theaters, sharing an experience with a bunch of other people. I remember seeing all of the Lord of the Rings movies in theaters and it was absolutely electric! Nowadays the bright screen and dark room give me a migraine, but I still make exceptions for films I'm really excited about 😊

Basing your expert opinion on a movie is always a sound and logical basis, right? I guess I was wrong when a Covington, Louisiana, sheriff's deputy had to arrest me because of a bogus complaint filed against me; and I then explained the full situation to him, detail by detail. He then personally called up a judge on a Sunday morning and explained the situation. The judge then set a token bail so I would not have to be locked up. I later defended myself in court and won. Re. Case # 039141 in St.Tammany Parish in 1973. Edit: I should have added that I had to fire my lawyer because he would have preferred to bargain for a lesser sentence when absolutely no sentence was deserved.

still amazing to think he was roommate to AL GORE .... Both men came from different worlds and arrived at Harvard under different circumstances, with Jones being there for Gore years later when the then-vice president needed him most. Gore came from a political family with a Washington, D.C. pedigree (via Biography) while Jones made it to Harvard on a football scholarship so of course he didn't shy away from academics (via Biography).

Dr. Kimble drives the stolen ambulance into a tunnel nearby a dam to escape the pursuit of the U.S. Marshals. The screen shot from the movie above is actually a composite – the road next to the dam does not lead to a tunnel. I have read that the tunnel is located somewhere along the Blue Ridge Parkway, so I might have to look into that sometime. The chase scenes were supposed to be along the BRP as well. We didn’t do a lot of research on those locations this time, but may modify this post in the future if we can find some of them and take a trip there.

The exterior scenes of the dam were all filmed along US 129 in North Carolina, at the Cheoah Dam. After being chased to the top edge of the dam by the U.S. Marshals, Dr. Richard Kimble leaps from the dam.

Several composites were done for the film. The tunnels where they chased Kimble were all done in Chicago. In the screenshot below, showing Kimble in the mouth of the dam, the area behind Dr. Kimble shows US 129 just west of the dam. The dam has no wide mouth openings like the one where Dr. Kimble is standing, but if it did, the scene looks very accurate! US 129, just west of the dam, visible in the background. It more prominent in the film, because the gates were open for plot purposes.

This movie paved the way for old TV shows to get the silver screen treatment. I remember before this was released, everyone was cautiously optimistic. But the critics, for the most part, loved it. Never occurred to me til now that Sam didn’t actually catch Richard. He spent the whole movie two steps behind and only caught Richard because he stopped running when he caught both his wife’s killers.

it was kind of a moot point by then. Though trying to avoid capture of course, Richard was more intent on proving his innocence. He could have simply fled Chicago to some obscure place and hid out indefinitely. By the time Sam caught up with him, he knew Richard was innocent and was trying to keep the Chicago police from killing him for murdering the police officer, (which of course he didn't actually do). so he was trying to protect him at that point as much as catch him.

@@douglasschmidt2869 studios have merged and execs mostly greenlight predictable stuff that is likely to make a ton of money (hence all the remakes and reboots of properties that already have a wide fanbase). We don't have nearly as many mid-budget movies anymore because they're a risky investment of shareholder money, and studios care about money more then making a good movie. It's the same with books, too, except there's a lower barrier to entry and authors can distribute their books on social media and make a name for themselves.

Saw this movie for the first time last year. Im 61. Lol lived with no tv for decades i have some catching up to do. The fugitive ends up joining a drag group and becomes nationally acclaimed. Everyone hates the marshal when they eventually catch the fugitive, and the court decides to let them go, and arrest the marshal instead, charging them with being hateful.

Don't forget Jeroen Krabbé. He played Dr. Nichols. Very versatile actor. He could play the guy you loved, or the guy you loved to hate. He had a knack for timing in his roles that really connected with the audience.

Aside from acting, he's also an accomplished artist, and has quite the sense of humor.

If nothing else, I just like the aesthetic many movies of this decade had, you know? The lighting, the architecture, just the overall environment, and the variety of environments in many of these movies. It just worked.

Also, Newman is my favorite member of the team alongside Biggs. Love the chemistry with Gerard and his team.

The first part of this movie was filmed in my hometown in North Carolina. We loved the attention it brought to our community. The dam is in our county and i remember them throwing off many dummies to get the scene correct. Great movie😂😂😂😂😂

No VCRs, so you had to pay attention. The question was often asked on that day, "Where are you going to watch the Fuge tonight?"

This is one of the best action movies I've ever seen. The only problem is the back drop. This is supposed to be in Illinois but if you're not aware Illinois doesn't have mountains and there are zero dams like that. It was filmed in North Carolina in a mountainous area. Why not just say it's North Carolina? It puzzles me to this day...

1990's when it was worth driving to Blockbuster to rent those VHS new realeses and it was worth it to keep it longer and pay extra fees for not returning on time... LOL I was one of those who never returned those VHS's on time. Always got charged an extra fee but I remember this movie was worth it, I shared it with all friends and family and every time it was like seeint it the first time. Thank you YouTube for making it free.

This movie proves that it's possible to have a highly exciting action movie without the lead being a vigilante or psychopath. It's more exciting than John Wick or the Equalizer or any other splatterpic/ Action movie hybrid and the lead character saves a few lives, but doesn't kill one person in the entire movie.
