9mm Parabellum Bullet Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
These lyrics from 9mm Parabellum Bullet's "砂の惑星" express the struggle of self-protection, even when it means holding onto things that should be discarded. The person being addressed is keeping silent and avoiding eye contact, trying to protect themselves from the pain of letting go of something they should have gotten rid of. The overarching theme suggests that everyone must protect themselves, even if it means they must do so alone.
The chorus emphasizes this idea of being alone, as it repeats the line "No one can help me." The singer is searching for an answer from God, wondering what will come next after their current emotional turmoil. They are overwhelmed by their feelings and suggest sketching out their tears in the desert. The final verse urges the listener to destroy whatever they fear losing and to do it on their own, with a smile on their face, even if it is painful. They are encouraged to take the singer's hand and sink together, suggesting that the two of them will continue to face challenges together.
Overall, 9mm Parabellum Bullet's "砂の惑星" is a powerful song that explores the struggle of self-protection and the pain of letting go. It suggests that we must rely on ourselves to move forward and that we must embrace that journey, no matter how difficult it may be.
