Battle March
9mm Parabellum Bullet Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics for 9mm Parabellum Bullet's song Battle March tells the story of a night in which a group of revolutionaries who have escaped surveillance cameras are trying to cross a border. The song talks about the mechanics of destiny and how it affects their lives. The chorus emphasizes the idea of the desert and the road scarred with cracks that symbolizes the inevitability of the journey they are on, and the knowledge that they are helpless to change the course of their fate. The song also touches on themes of regret, memories, and missed opportunities.
The first paragraph talks about a story that is waiting to be resolved, and how the most critical moments are always happening just within reach. The mechanics of destiny are rotating as the group walked on the desert, and every step they take on this imperfect pavement signifies the time they have spent in the revolution. The second paragraph is focused on the memories of the journey, the cactus that starts to speak, and the medicine that they put on the invisible wounds. The parts of their past that they carry with them had brought them to where they are now- stranded in the desert with no knowledge if they'd ever make it across the border.
The third paragraph talks about the revolutionaries' struggle to cross the border, and a reference to a hesitating donkey. The line, "未来に溺れながら一筋落ちる涙," which means that while they are focused on the future, they are also living in the present and feeling the sadness of it all. The chorus repeats that destiny will keep on turning, and they cannot turn back time even if they wanted to. The last line, "ワラでも掴め," which means grab whatever you can, is a message of hope and suggests that no matter how desperate the situation may seem, there is always something to hold on to.
