I used to have a JM250. It was a great all in one recording amp. I recorded a lot of music with it. Endless possibilities. With the pedal board you can have up to 4 expression pedals. USA made by Digitech. One of the lost guitar amp gems. The presets were a bit goofy, but when you start to tweak it and program your own patches it really shines.

I have playing for 30 years and i wish i would bought one these years ago. These were way ahead of there time.I also own couple j-Stations as well. Johnson made some great stuff and straight forward simple to use and stereo sound that comes out of this amp is just awesome.I have a ton of gear that i just do not use anymore since i bought this amp. You just got to play one.

I always wanted this amp too, back when it came out. I finally got one now, and it is a wonderful amplifier. But Digitech did not create Line 6. In fact the two companies have never been connected in any way.

I bought one of these heads and a matching slant 4x12 when they were brand new (1999 I think). I still have the head but it has an electronic issue that I have not fixed. It is ,to this day, my favorite piece of guitar equipment that I have ever owned.
It was the first modeling amp that really got the job done well, and I think still does. I played in a band in which the other guitarists used Line 6 stuff (when it was a new brand) and we all agreed that the Johnson made them sound bad. I use a Line 6 amp now, so I am not bashing them. They have sounded better through the years, but still do not have the sound quality and versatility that the Harmon Kardon/Digitech Johnson amps did.

The sticker on the back of the amp says it was made Oct '02. So the amp is 11 years old. Johnson Amplification was bought out by the Harmon Music Group shortly after that amp was made, and the Johnson S-Disk technology was incorporated into the Digitech Line 6 product family. Harmon still provides some support for these amps.

The proprietary J12 or J6 foot controller board has some built in things that are useful, although any midi controller can be hooked up to the amp to switch presets and control effects.

The guy I just sold this amp to on Ebay, managed to break it the first time he used it. From what I can tell, he hooked one output up to a dead short. The amp immediately blew a fuse. Then instead of asking me why the amp blew a fuse, he just put another one in and tried again. This time he vaporized two of the eight output transistors. He then told Ebay that I sent him a fried amp, and single handedly destroyed my 9 year 100% positive Ebay account. A detailed video with be forthcoming.

This amplifier puts every guitar player in a dream state. If you ever dreamed of a perfect amplifier and it hat all these crazy extra features that just don't happen in real life, this would be that Amp that you could still be holding on to when you wake up each morning. You will wake up and rejoice that it was not just a dream. That's how any real guitar player would feel each day with this Amp.

The reason Johnson amps failed was because of their presets...most are unusable....you skipped about ten presets to find a good one...I own the 150 stereo combo...I changed the first 5 presets and made my own...great sounding amp though

I prefer a B-52 vented 4x12 because it reduces the bass boominees of a regular sealed 4x12. Ebay demanded that I accept return and give a buyer, who described breaking the item, a full refund, even though the item was listed as is, returns refused. Ebay has proven themselves incapable of properly handling any more sales for me. I strongly recommend any private seller of personal property to avoid selling anything on Ebay. Non-payers are just annoying for items can be re-listed easily enough.

Yes, this is all with the same guitar, with the same settings on the guitar even. The guitar was basically an LP with two PAF huimbuckers.

Panos, This amp does have tubes. I own tube amps and solid state amps, but this one is a hybrid and more. Has two tubes and kicks most amps out of the park,

The "H" on the end means head and differentiates the combo version from the separate head cabinet and speaker cabinet version of the same amp.

I own 3 of these amps.They are just AWSOME!! Most you tube videos just do not give these amps the justice they deserve. Most videos of this amps sound like crap because people are recording them with pc of crap camera. you have to try one out for yourself in person. These were the very first modeling amp ever made. They where super expensive when they first came out. So most people just like me just overlooked them. Johnson sold out to digitech. So if you look at the digitech 2112 & 2120 preamps they are just a rack mount version of the Johnson amp.Line 6 tried to copy this amp with the flextone III and the vetta amp. Just watch the 6 part you tube series on this amp by kevy wevs and you just might understand that the Johnson amp was way ahead of its time in 1997.

Any advice on why I cannot get sound out of my Johnson 150 when I only have my guitar volume knob somewhere set between 1 and 4.... it seems that no sound will come out until my volume knob on My Guitar hits about 4....
Any answers ???

The old Digitech GNX Series UP TO the Genesis3 has the same tech in them, just re-branded. I have a J-Station & Genesis3 and side by side with the SAME SETTINGS using the SAME OUTPUTS (Digital or Analog) you can not tell them apart.

I want one of these heads SO bad! This & a 60's Melody Maker and I can die a happy muso! LOL!

This a good video but the sound quality of the video dose not do the amp justice. The has a noise gate that completely stops the sound as soon as you stop playing. When you play arpeggios the single string articulation is just awesome.

Yep. If Ebay and PayPal are going to give all loyalty and protection to the buyers, and push off all risk and cost on to the sellers, they ought to at least charge all the Ebay and Paypal fees to the buyers on top of the sale price of the item rather then subtracting it from the sale price of the item and the giving what's left over to the sellers. This is an outright crooked bordering on criminal game Ebay is playing with the sellers.

@Panos you are drinking Kool-Aid to justify why you have a boutique amp. I am sorry but good tone starts at your hands. I own a 69Plexi, a Soldano wired by Mike, a Johnson 250 and Now a Fractal and some Mesa Boogie Power amps. I sound like me regardless of what amp I am using. Who are you to say what is shit lol. Amps are like guitars they have their own character just because you don't like the Johnson dose not make it a bad amp.
