Un día como hoy (03 de agosto pero de 1992, hace 30 años) fue lanzada la canción "The Hitman" de la agrupación belga "AB Logic". Este grupo fue un proyecto belga de música Eurodance arreglado y producido por Jacko Bultinck y Peter Gillis en 1991. Phil Wilde (Filip Marnix Luc de Wilde) también participó en el proyecto (Quién a su vez es co productor de 2 Unlimited). Sus miembros incluyeron al rapero K-Swing (Cedric Murril) y la vocalista de música pop Marianne Festraets. De esta manera la aparición de un vocalista cantante de rap y una chica que canta los coros en las canciones de música electrónica fue una configuración que se volvió muy popular. Y aunque este grupo arrasó en ventas en esa época, fue 2 Unlimited quien se quedó con el trono.
Marianne Festraets tomó muchos años de clases de ballet clásico. También contribuyó al proyecto The Dinky Toys y a los coros de Isabelle A. En 1991, Marianne Festraets fue invitada a una audición en Top Studio en Gante (Bélgica). Tuvo que cantar una canción de baile llamada "The Hitman" y fue elegida en el acto entre varios cantantes para grabarla y ser parte del proyecto junto con K-Swing. Peter Gillis y Jacko Bultinck llevaron la canción al MIDEM (acrónimo de Marché International du Disque et de l'Edition Musicale, –en español: Mercado Internacional del Disco y la Edición Musical– que se organiza anualmente en y alrededor del Palacio de Festivales y Congresos de Cannes, Francia). A Ronald Van Huffel se le ocurrió el nombre de AB Logic para promocionarlo y en poco tiempo se inscribieron en East-West Warner Records en Londres. A partir de ese momento, todo fue muy rápido. En un mes, tuvieron que crear un álbum completo, que era la condición para que el sello lanzara el sencillo en los Estados Unidos. Y así AB Logic realizó una gira promocional por el Reino Unido en junio de 1992. Un día, un DJ estadounidense tocando The Hitman en un club, convirtió la canción en un éxito instantáneo.
La banda estuvo activa desde junio de 1992 hasta febrero de 1996.
