The song was performed by Scott and AC/DC on BBC music show Top of the Pops, 12 days before his death. This episode, dated 7 February 1980, was repeated by BBC Four on 19 February 2015, the 35th anniversary of Scott's death.
The band had earlier recorded another song with vastly different words and music entitled "Touch Too Much", but the song was never released. That track would eventually see the light of day in 1997 when it was included in Volts, part of the band's Bonfire box set.
The cover of the single in many territories was released with the band photograph flipped horizontally, incorrectly showing the Youngs and bassist Cliff Williams as playing left-handed.
The music video was live rehearsal performance from If You Want Blood Tour 1978-1979, along with "Walk All Over You" on the Family Jewels DVD compilation.
Prior to joining AC/DC on the Rock or Bust World Tour, Axl Rose said this was his favorite AC/DC song. The song was first performed live on 22 May 2016 in Prague.

When you turned out the lights
And everything comes into view
She was taking her time
I was losing my mind
There was nothing that she wouldn't do
It wasn't the firstIt wasn't the last
She knew we was making love
I was so satisfied
Deep down inside
Like a hand in a velvet glove
Seems like a touch, a touch too much
Seems like a touch, a touch too much
Too much for my body, too much for my brain
This damn woman's gonna drive me insane
She's got a touch, a touch too much
She had the face of an angel
Smiling with sin
A body of Venus with arms
Dealing with danger
Stroking my skin
Let the thunder and lightening start
It wasn't the first
It wasn't the last
It wasn't that she didn't care
She wanted it hard
And wanted it fast
She liked it done medium rare
Seems like a touch, a touch too much
Too much for my body, too much for my brain
This damn woman's gonna drive me insane
She had a touch, a touch too much, touch me
Seems like a touch (touch too much)
You know it's much too much (much too much)
I really want to feel your (touch too much)
Girl you know you're giving me (much too much)
Seems like a touch
Just a dirty little touch
I really need your touch
'Cause you're much too much too much too much
Seems like a touch, a touch too much
Seems like a touch, a touch too much
Giving me a touch, a touch too much
Baby gotta a touch, a touch too much
Seems like a touch, a touch too much
A touch too much
A touch too much
A touch too much
A touch
Come on and touch me
Yeah
The lyrics of "Touch Too Much" by AC/DC are about a sexual encounter that is wild and intense, leaving the singer feeling like the woman is giving him "a touch too much." The song starts with the singer turning off the lights and then watching as the woman takes her time. The encounter is so intense that it's too much for his body and his brain. Despite his protests, however, the woman keeps coming back for more. She's a dangerous, sexy woman who enjoys getting down to business in the bedroom.
Throughout the song, there are references to the woman's sinfulness and the singer's desire for more. The chorus repeats the phrase "seems like a touch, a touch too much" four times, further emphasizing the singer's realization that this woman is too much for him to handle. The song has a fast tempo with a hard rock and blues-infused sound to match the intensity of the lyrics.
Overall, the lyrics of "Touch Too Much" celebrate the pleasure of sex and the wild abandon that comes with it. The song is an ode to the intense, passionate moments that can occur between two people, even if it's a little bit too much sometimes.

I’m 57. These guys represented my childhood along with other iconic bands of the time, but nothing really compares. It’s 2024 and I just finished a spectacular weekends with friends and we all came to the consensus that they’re the best band to see in concert - nothing compares to the energy and sound that AC/DC unloads.

1982 was the best year EVER!

I’m the same age as you, turned 57 3 weeks ago, grew up on AC/DC, Cheap Trick, DLR-era Van Halen, Ramones, and late 70’s and early 80’s Punk/New Wave… and I saw all those bands live, multiple times. We lived for that stuff. The music was everything, and though I hardly ever still go out to shows, I still listen to those bands constantly and I’ve raised my kids on ‘em. That said, I don’t know if I’d say that AC/DC were the best live band. They were great for sure, but the first 3 times I saw Van Halen (first time was in the fall of ‘79), they couldn’t be touched live. They just blew everyone else away in those days.

I'm also 57 years of age and I totally agree!

I wonder if it’s true that Back In Black had already been written, and arranged, and was just waiting to be recorded, when Bon died.
