Miss fire check plug gap and for cracks in porcelain. Ohm wires. Test coil and what ever else creates spark. Do a wet and dry compression test. Then move to the fuel system check fot power at injectors test injectors fuel pressure test and test regulator and pump. Never worked on sleds but without a scanner and just a multi meter thats how i tackle cars. And in that order. You can do alot with a good meter

It is the map tuner x , I bought it to tune my seadoo sparks but it is the same setup so you can use it for the sleds too

Perhaps it was a loose plug that caused the misfire.

none, were loose when I changed them, I am happy to report that after the plug change it runs and drives like new, we have a couple of jetskis with these 900 Ace engines (I love them) and about every 3rd year they do the same thing and need a plug change. easy cheap maintenance item at the end of the day.
