Miss Murder
AFI Lyrics
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Make (hey) beauty stay if I
Take my life? Oh
With just a look, they shook
And heavens bowed before him
Simply a look can break your heart
The stars that pierced the sky
We're left to wonder why
He left us all behind
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Make (hey) beauty stay if I
Take my life? Oh
Oh
Dreams of his crash won't pass
Oh, how they all adored him
Beauty will last when spiralled down
The stars that mystified
He left them all behind
And how his children cried
"He left us all behind"
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Make (hey) beauty stay if I
Take my life? Oh
What's the hook, the twist within this furthest mystery?
I would gladly bet my life upon it
That the ghost you love, your ray of light will fizzle out
Without hope
We're the empty set just flowing through our empty skin
Ever-searching for what we were promised
Reaching for the golden ring, we never let go
Who would ever let us put our filthy hands upon it?
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Make (hey) beauty stay if I
Take my life? Oh
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Hey (hey), Miss Murder, can I
Make (hey) beauty stay if I
Take my life? Oh

ABOUT THE MUSIC VIDEO:
The "director's cut" music video begins with Prelude 12/21. A woman sits on a settee and writes a note during the instrumental beginning. Davey Havok begins singing, eyes closed and hands folded, opening his eyes on the first "sleep" of the verse. The rest of the band is seen entering a large circular hall and setting up their instruments. Havok is sitting at a table, singing to the camera. At the end of Prelude 12/21, the woman, whose face cannot be seen, eats the note. Havok pulls it out of his mouth, reads it, and looks up to sing Miss Murder. As he sings, he walks out of the room and stands on a balcony in front of a huge crowd. The video cuts between him and the woman walking, holding a black rabbit. When the woman enters the courtyard, Havok sees her and there are shots of him inside, facing a mirror. A rabbit comes close to the chair, and he picks it up. There is another shot of him outside, with four banners featuring the members of the band on the wall. At the very end, he is facing the mirror again and the woman, presumably "Miss Murder," touches the back of his neck and he closes his eyes again. The last shot is of the rabbit.

How the hell are they underrated? December Underground hit #1 on US charts. They are (were?) loved by the OG DIY punk scene back from when they were originally a punk band that went into Horror Punk for a bit (All Hallows EP), and slid into whatever they are doing now.
These guys have cred from the underground and broke into the mainstream and kinda stayed here.
