And the rumpus and ruckus are comfortable now
Been a hell of a ride but I'm thinkin' it's time to grow
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)
So I got an apartment across from the park
Put quinoa in my fridge, still I'm not feelin' grown
Been a hell of a ride but I'm thinkin' it's time to go
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)
So put your best face on, everybody
Pretend you know this song, everybody
Come hang
Let's go out with a bang
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)
I'm way too young to lie here forever
I'm way too old to try, so whatever
Come hang
Let's go out with a bang
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)
Feel like I'm gonna puke 'cause my taxes are due
Do my password begin with a one or a two?
Been a hell of a ride but I'm thinkin' it's time to grow
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)
(Metronome)
Man, I'm up to something (up to something), ooh-dee-la-dee-doh
Thank you all for comin' (all for coming), I hope you like the show
'Cause it's on a budget, so ooh-dee-la-dee-doh
Yeah, come on here we go, yeah, come on (here we go)
So put your best face on, everybody
Pretend you know this song, everybody
Come hang
Let's go out with a bang
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)
I'm way too young to lie here forever
I'm way too old to try, so whatever
Come hang
Let's go out with a bang
(Bang! Bang! Bang!) (Bang! Bang-bang)
(Bang! Bang! Bang!) (Bang! Bang-bang! Bang! Bang!)
Been a hell of a ride but I'm thinkin' it's time to go
So put your best face on, everybody
Pretend you know this song, everybody
Come hang
Let's go out with a bang
(Bang! Bang! Bang!)

Come hang
Let's go out with a bang

The song "Bang!" by AJR is a catchy and upbeat number that explores the concept of growing up and moving on. The first few lines of the song discuss the feeling of being comfortable in chaos, jumping around amidst the rumpus and ruckus that define life. However, AJR acknowledges that it's time to grow up and move on, signaled by the "bang bang bang" repetition that punctuates the song.
The next verses talk about various aspects of adulthood, like getting an apartment and filling it with quinoa, and struggling with taxes and passwords. The chorus then invites the listener to come hang and go out with a bang, as AJR recognizes that they're too young to stay stagnant and too old to keep trying the same old things. Going out in a blaze of glory seems like the appropriate way to go.
Overall, "Bang!" captures the feeling of being stuck between being a kid and being a full-fledged adult, and the desire to go out and experience life while also grappling with the fears and frustrations that accompany that experience.
