Oh, yeah!
Rolling around at the speed of sound
Got places to go
Gotta follow my rainbow
Can't stick around, have to keep movin' on
Guess what lies aheadOnly one way to find out
Must keep on movin' ahead
No time for guessin', follow my plan instead
Trusting in what you can't see
Take my lead, I'll set you free
Follow me, set me free
Trust me and we will escape from the city
I'll make it through, follow me
Follow me, set me free
Trust me and we will escape from the city
I'll make it through, prove it to you
Follow me!
Oh, yeah!
Danger is lurking around every turn
Trust your feelings
You've got to live and learn
I know with some luck that I'll make it through
Got no other options
Only one thing to do
I don't care what lies ahead
No time for guessin', follow my plan insteadFind that next stage no matter what that may be
Take my lead, I'll set you free
Follow me, set me free
Trust me and we will escape from the city
I'll make it through, follow me
Follow me, set me free
Trust me and we will escape from the city
I'll make it through, prove it to you
Follow me!
Follow me!
I'll make it through, oh, yeah
In "Escape the City," AL-3B-D captures the essence of a journey driven by urgency and aspiration. The opening lines immediately set the tone with a sense of momentum: "Rolling around at the speed of sound / Got places to go." The singer is in motion, symbolizing a desire to break free from constraints and explore new possibilities. The mention of "following my rainbow" evokes a classic metaphor related to pursuing dreams and hopes, suggesting that there is a treasure or an idyllic destination worth chasing. This urgency is underscored by the repeated phrase "can't stick around," indicating a clear intention to leave behind stagnation and embrace adventure. The anticipation of what lies ahead elicits a sense of excitement mingled with the unknown, embodying a core theme of exploration and discovery.
As the song progresses, the singer emphasizes the importance of trust and reliance on instinct: "Must keep on movin' ahead / No time for guessin', follow my plan instead." Here, AL-3B-D expresses a nuanced perspective on the journey—it's not just about blind optimism but rather about having a strategy and confidence in one’s abilities. The idea of trusting in the unseen resonates with listeners who may grapple with uncertainty in their own lives. A call to "take my lead" embodies a shared responsibility, suggesting that following someone else's guidance can be a liberating experience. This notion of camaraderie and shared adventure invites others to join in the quest, promoting a sense of community in the face of life's challenges.
The chorus, centered on the declaration "Follow me, set me free," serves as a rallying cry that amplifies the themes of freedom and mutual reliance. By urging others to trust in the path laid out, the singer positions themselves as a guide through turbulent times. The repeated assurance of “I'll make it through” reflects resilience and determination, reinforcing the belief that collectively they can overcome obstacles. This strong, persuasive tone encourages those hesitant about embarking on their own adventures to reconsider and to embrace change. The phrase encapsulates not only personal freedom but also the power of connection and shared experiences in pursuing one's goals.
Midway through the song, the acknowledgment of danger and uncertainty—"Danger is lurking around every turn / Trust your feelings"—adds depth to the narrative. It recognizes that the path to self-discovery and fulfillment is fraught with risks, echoing the complexity of real-life journeys. However, rather than succumbing to fear, the lyricist highlights the necessity of resilience and adaptability. The life lesson "you've got to live and learn" serves as a poignant reminder that setbacks are part of the process. The combination of hope and practicality embodies a balanced perspective on navigating through challenges while holding onto the vision of success. Overall, "Escape the City" is more than a call to adventure; it is an anthem of agency and connection, inviting listeners to embrace the thrill of the unknown while trusting in their inner strength and the bonds they share with others.

An older convict and I were talking once, and he really impressed me with his life outlook. I had already been locked up in TDC for 7 years by the time I met him.
He also had been locked up since he was 13 years old in Texas Youth Commission, then TDC. Yes, he was a killer (his foster parent) also and considered a detriment to society.
We talked about many things, but the one topic I kept inside me was my lack of self forgiveness. I was already a 2 time looser, worthless in the eyes of society.
I asked him, "When will all this shit be over with? Not the time, but thus freaking heaviness inside me."
He took a drag off his Bugler cigarette, and said, "it'll be over when its over, not a second before or after."
But fu**ing when?!
"That's up to you cabron."
I got shipped to another farm later in and lost contact with him. But I understood what he meant.
I have over 30+ years now successfully in the free world. The years I wss locked away still haunt me. But, I know that I'll never have worth unless I give myself some worth. It ain't easy, nothing ever has been; but I sleep well at night, and I don't have to keep looking over my shoulder. I love people, and hope people love me back.
God bless everybody, even if you don't believe in God, the sun shines, and the rain falls on us all equally.

NEVER trust the quiet kid
Its entirely their fault they have no friends

There is a lot of people like this behind bars.
I know men that have been down since. Ages between 13-15 still down. Their ages now between 24-38
The 38 year old has been down for 24 years doing life.
24 year old guy did 17 years going in at 14.
Did more time prison time than freedom.
It's generational parents did time
Grandparents also
Doesn't stop
@rosenbaum75
This poor child had a horrible life. He was born to a family of drug addicts. When he was 2,he was found wandering the streets after his crack addicted grandmother was supposed to be watching him. He was repeatedly molested by uncles and a neighbor. He had never been shown even a little bit of love or care or compassion let alone the difference between right and wrong. All he knew his whole life was abuse and neglect which shaped his actions. Heartbreaking.
@boparks3204
His mother was 13 when she had him... and mentally unstable! He never stood a chance... none of them did. It's so incredibly sad.
@rosenbaum75
@@boparks3204 I look at him and I see my son and I am both heartbroken and outraged that there was no one who cared enough about this innocent boy to save him from his horrible life before he committed such a horrible act. The last thing he needs is to serve hard time. He needs intensive therapy, an education, and compassion.
@MM-fc2gi
I will never forget reading your comment! I screamed and cried. I wish I never read that. That's horrible!!! That was awful. That poor child. Why on earth dochildren suffer like this I ask God
@rosenbaum75
@@MM-fc2gi kids suffer through the most horrifying things and they just get ignored. Pay attention to the children around you. If you feel something is wrong, speak up. Call child services. It's the best way to protect innocent and helpless children.
@MM-fc2gi
@@rosenbaum75 I used to be one of those children. I definitely have CPS or dcf on speed dial. The bad thing is, they usually don't do anything and calling them pisses off the abusers. I feel horrible that this child lost his entire childhood and suffered so much and has to live with what he did to his brother. I researched this. He broke the 2 year olds leg a few months earlier. The child may have survived the final incident but mom waited 8 hours to call her help. Both children suffered tragically. May God have mercy on the souls of the parents and grandmother. The mother was only 12 when she became pregnant with him.
@GrandIens
For people who don’t know, he got sentenced to juvenile life in prison he wasn’t gonna be in prison till he dies. He was released after his 19th birthday in 2018 after some juvenile life laws were changed
