The band AWS was founded on the summer of 2006 in Budakeszi. Their music style can be cathegorized as a mixture of alternative and modern metal . However there are a lot of heavy guitar riffs and agressive vocal samples, also catchy choruses and soft melodies can be found in their music, and to go further, the whole thing comes down in their intensive stage performance. Their first EP was recorded in 2008 with the title: „Faithless”.
They had shows in places like Petõfi Csarnok, A38 and Dürer Kert. As a „warm up band” they had tours with Superbutt in bigger cities throughout Hungary. They had shows on the most well known festivals in Hungary like Sziget Fesztivál, EFOTT, Fezen Feszt etc. They also had shows in Romania, Austria and Slovenia as well. Their first album „Fata Morgana” comes out in the first half of 2011, which has 8 english and 2 hungarian songs on it. They made a videoclip from the single „Takard el!” which can also be found on their album. They firstly showed their full album on the tour „Raprock Superstar”, with the company of famous hungarian bands like Fish, Hõsök and Superbutt.
They awarded as the "Best foreign band" at the International Live Award 2011 final in Wienna. They are the first MTV Brand:New band of 2011, which means that the channel plays their songs and broadcasting new infos about AWS.
In May 2018, AWS represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal with the song „Viszlát nyár”. They qualified from the second semifinal and came in 21st place in the grand final with 93 points.
On 6th February, 2021, AWS revealed on Instagram and Facebook that lead singer Örs Siklósi had passed away on 5 February, 2021 from leukemia at the age of 29.
On 16 January, 2023, Tamás Stefán was announced as the new lead singer of AWS along with the release of a new single, „Odaát”.

Now listen, I don't usually comment but... Music is a huge part of my life. I enjoy almost every genre known so far. I love playing it, studying theory and enjoy listening to good music. But in recent years I haven't felt that tingling sensation that a great song can give you, or a craze towards how a song made me feel. So many bands are just kind of bland and uninspired, you barely come across something really good, know what I mean? But these guys...
First heard of them with Viszlat Nyar on Eurovision, and I've been captivated by their sound and genuine passion for music. It was nearly all I could listen to for days. A month or so later and I find this. This song blew me away yet again. I'm sitting here with my jaw hanging and laughing at how good the lyrics, the melodies and the rhythm are. You guys have something special, your sound is fantastic. Thank you for existing.
