Sogno
A BOCELLI Lyrics

Ripensando ancora a me
Ripensando a me
Sogno
Qui ti aspetterò
E ruberò i baci al tempo
Sogno
Un rumore il vento che mi sveglia
E sei già qua
"Sogno," a song by Andrea Bocelli, paints an evocative picture of longing and devotion while exploring themes of love and emotional absence. The opening lines, "Va ti aspetterò," which translate to "Go, I will wait for you," set the stage for a heartfelt narrative grounded in waiting and separation. The singer frames their emotional state in a landscape marked by time, symbolized by the "fiore nel giardino" (flower in the garden). Here, the flower signifies not only beauty but also the passage of time, highlighting the bittersweet aspect of anticipation. This patience is imbued with romantic optimism as the singer dreams about the day of their beloved's return. They sincerely hope for a future reunion, suggesting an unbreakable commitment fortified by the time spent apart.
The lyrics delve deeper into the singer's emotional experience as they reflect on their love's steadfastness. The line, "Sei così sicura del mio amore" ("You are so sure of my love"), underscores a mutual emotional understanding within the relationship. The beloved carries the weight of the singer's love physically and metaphorically. The idea of keeping that love “chiuso nelle mani” (closed in the hands) signals intimacy, as it evokes the notion that love is something to be cherished and safeguarded. The imagery here also suggests vulnerability, as the singer desires their partner to take a piece of their heart with them and to show it to the world—an act that implies trust and a deep connection. This sharing creates a paradox of longing and closeness, as the singer feels present in spirit even from afar.
Bocelli's lyrics continue to emphasize the power of memories and thoughts that linger in the absence of physical presence. The phrase "rubero i baci al tempo" ("I will steal kisses from time") reinforces the idea of cherishing every fleeting moment and memory, despite the sadness of separation. It reflects an intrinsic understanding that the passage of time can be both a thief and a keeper of love. The singer acknowledges that their longing remains “chiuso nelle mani” as they contemplate the feelings that have yet to dissipate, suggesting that memories are profound and everlasting. Throughout these moments of reflection, the emotional tension between desire and reality remains palpable. The use of dreams as a motif evokes not only wish fulfillment but also introspection about what the future holds for both lovers.
The concluding lines encapsulate the surreal transition between longing and reunion—the singer exists in a dreamlike state, punctuated by the awakening sound of the wind. The subtle transition leaves listeners in a suspended moment, reflecting on both the hopefulness of love and the uncertainty surrounding it. The phrase "e sei già qua" ("and you are already here") hints at the magic of love that transcends time and distance, suggesting that even when physically apart, souls remain connected. Ultimately, "Sogno" serves as an ode to enduring love, rich with evocative imagery and emotional depth, celebrating the beauty of waiting and the dreams that accompany it. This tension captures the listener's imagination, inviting profound contemplation on the essence of love, presence, and longing.

That you take it with you wherever you go
Locked away in the hands that you bring to your face
Ripensando ancora a me

Non sa che vita c'è
It does not know the life within
In quello che soltanto il cuore sente
In what only the heart truly feels
Non sa
It does not understand
Qui ti aspetterò
Here, I will be waiting for you
E ruberò i baci al tempo
And I will steal kisses from time itself

Remains locked in the hands that you bring to your face
Ripensando a me
While reminiscing about me
And it will accompany you as we pass through cities together
Da me che sono ancora qui
From me, who am still here
E sogno cose che non so di te
And I dream of things I do not know about you
Where you will be, which path your return will take
Sogno

Qui ti aspetterò
Here, I will await your presence
E ruberò i baci al tempo
And I will take kisses from time
Sogno
I dream
Un rumore il vento che mi sveglia
A sound, the wind that awakens me
E sei già qua
And you are already here
