Their influences range from rock, to punk, to indie, to metal. Their singles "Miseries and Miracles", “A Walk Alone”, “An Orphan of the Storm”, and "To Sleep and Dream" are songs that have blasted A Blinding Silence to the forefront of today's unsigned bands. Their songs are currently receiving college radio airplay and are being spun on almost every internet radio station around.
The band has been Buzzplay’s “Artist of the Month” twice and has been ranked as high as #2 on Purevolume's “Unsigned Artist Chart” (in the Alternative, Screamo, and Post Hardcore genres).
In 2006 an investor and his movie crew set out to make a film about “the battle a band goes through, the circumstances, and the temptations that are sometimes thrown in our paths to defeat us.” They were looking to cast “a band that was truly talented and in the midst of working, sweating, and bleeding for their art.” They felt that the boys had the music and the faith to carry the film. The entire band was cast in the lead roles and in February of 2006, A Blinding Silence finished filming their movie debut in the indie film “Silent Cries”.
In addition to the film, the band was approached by Hollywood Director Josh Martin and 24 Bros. Production. Shortly after the movie wrapped, they filmed and completed the major motion video to their hit single “Miseries and Miracles”.
Because of their wide appeal, A Blinding Silence is gaining fans and supporters on a worldwide level. They simply write songs and lyrics that people fall in love with. They are also in possession of one of the most amazing live shows around.
Though often compared to breakout artists like Story of the Year, Taking Back Sunday, Coheed and Cambria, The Used, and old Finch, there's no band that quite sounds like A Blinding Silence.

Promises
A Blinding Silence Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Fall victim to the
Whirlwind of life...
Letting go
Doesn't mean I'm letting go
(I won't let go)
And all respite
May have seemed
Tragedy is what I'm fighting
So I'm leaving
(my heart will stay)
Remember, if you ever
Hear this on the radio
I'm promising
That if you ever need
Me I'll be there
I promise you...that I'll be there
I'm promising
(fate sometimes smiles)
And second chances
Fall from the sky...
Snatching you
From the jaws of "nothing"
And beauty saves
Muted hearts, silent dreams
Reminding me when I
Thought I lost it all...
My heart's bleeding
(and promises)
Made before
Are calling to me
And so I have to go
But I'm promising
That if you ever need me
I'll be there
I promise you...that I'll be there
I'm promising
The song "Promises" by A Blinding Silence is a deeply emotional and reflective piece about life, hope, and resilience in the face of tragedy. The opening lines of the song capture the singer's sense of being overwhelmed by the unpredictable nature of life itself, often feeling caught up in the "whirlwind" of events beyond their control. The singer also acknowledges that their attempts to find solace or relief from life's challenges may not always be successful, even if they appear misguided or pointless at the time.
Despite these challenges, the singer clings to a sense of hope and faith in the future while recognizing the importance of letting go of things that no longer serve them. This theme is echoed throughout the song, as the singer talks about the importance of embracing second chances and finding beauty in unexpected places. The final lines of the song are a testament to the power of promises, as the singer affirms their commitment to always being there for those who need them, no matter what.
Overall, "Promises" is a poignant and understated reminder of the strength and resilience that can be found in moments of adversity. It is a reminder that, no matter how difficult life may seem, there is always hope for something better if we keep moving forward and stay true to our promises.
Line by Line Meaning
And I sometimes,
Fall victim to the
Whirlwind of life...
Life can often be quite unpredictable and overwhelming, and I sometimes find myself becoming a bit lost and disorientated in the midst of everything.
Letting go
Doesn't mean I'm letting go
(I won't let go)
Although it may appear as though I'm trying to detach myself from certain people or situations, that doesn't mean that I'm actually ready or willing to let them go completely.
And all respite
May have seemed
Ill conceived at the time
Tragedy is what I'm fighting
So I'm leaving
(my heart will stay)
Even though seeking refuge or comfort in certain things might not seem like the best plan at first, I'm still pushing forward and trying my best to overcome the tragedies and heartaches that come my way, even if that means parting ways with certain people or places that are dear to me.
Remember, if you ever
Hear this on the radio
I'm promising
That if you ever need
Me I'll be there
I promise you...that I'll be there
I'm promising
This song is a testament to my unwavering loyalty and support for those who might need me someday, no matter where life takes us or how complicated things might get. If you hear this on the radio, know that my promise still stands, and I'll always be here for you when you need me most.
(fate sometimes smiles)
And second chances
Fall from the sky...
Snatching you
From the jaws of "nothing"
Sometimes, life can surprise us with unexpected gifts and blessings, even in the midst of tragedy or loss. Second chances can often appear unexpectedly, pulling us out of the darkness and giving us hope for the future.
And beauty saves
Muted hearts, silent dreams
Reminding me when I
Thought I lost it all...
My heart's bleeding
(and promises)
In the face of pain or heartache, it can be easy to forget all the beauty and goodness that still exists in the world. But even the simplest of things - a sunset, a kind word, a sincere promise - can be enough to help mend our broken hearts and give us the strength to carry on.
Made before
Are calling to me
And so I have to go
But I'm promising
That if you ever need me
I'll be there
I promise you...that I'll be there
I'm promising
Although I might be moving on from certain things or people in my life, the promises I've made along the way are still ringing in my ears, reminding me of what I stand for and who I am. Regardless of where I go or what happens, however, my promise to be there for those who need me most will always remain true.

Rich Luna
First heard this in 2005, I think.
They just don't make bands like these anymore.

I wish they did, 04-07 post-hardcore is simply fantastic. I think of it the same way as impressionist paintings. The goal is to take simple elements and distill them into a distinctly human piece of art.
