Mistake
A Boys Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You see me
Right back at the place you started from
What did you expect
I said you should quit those cigarettes
I'm gonna let go
I can't fight a mental war on two fronts
Can't you see
What you've done
I lost my way
I made a mistake
I'm tired of looking
I'm tired of being right
You play your games
I stay the same
I'm sure we'll all be fine
I didn't see you today cause I don't have the time
I didn't eat today cause I don't have the money
I lost my way
I made a mistake
I'm tired of looking
I'm tired of being right
You play your games
I stay the same
I'm sure we'll all be fine
I lost my way
I made a mistake
I'm tired of looking
I'm tired of being right
You play your games

I stay the same
I'm sure we'll all be fine

Overall Meaning

The song "Mistake" by A Boy is a reflection of lost love and the feeling of being stuck in a stagnant relationship. The opening lines "You see me, right back at the place you started from" imply that the singer has come full circle, back to where they began in the relationship, possibly suggesting that despite their efforts, nothing has improved. The lyrics "What did you expect, I said you should quit those cigarettes" seem to indicate frustration with the partner's unhealthy habits, possibly implying that the partner isn't putting in as much effort as the singer.

The chorus "I lost my way, I made a mistake" represents the regret and disappointment that the singer feels, as they realize that they've lost themselves in the relationship, and that it was a mistake to stay in such a toxic situation for as long as they did. The lines "I'm tired of looking, I'm tired of being right" convey a sense of exhaustion from constantly trying to fix things and feeling like their efforts are going unnoticed. The line "You play your games, I stay the same" suggests that while the singer has tried to make changes, the partner is still manipulating or refusing to change themselves. The final line "I'm sure we'll all be fine" has a hint of sarcasm, implying that the singer no longer believes that the relationship will get better.

RainbowGlitch

@endtell its a comedy channel, its never been a review channel

Nick No Gimmicks

CinemaSins is just for shits and giggles these days. Can’t be mad at a coattail rider for coattail riding 🤷‍♂️

SaltySeaCaptain 225

@RainbowGlitchis it a comedy channel? Cause their "jokes" are cringey unfunny nonsense nowadays that they still sin as if it's a critique of the show.

How do you give a sin for Black Noir's name being redundant and then give a sin to them for actively calling out how stupid Translucent's name is??

Keith Elliott

because both conditions are sin worthy?
i don't see what your point is. one was sinned for being kinda stupid, the other was sinned for being kinda stupid, and they shouldn't have been sinned for being kinda stupid, because...?

Some Blaq Guy

@Keith Elliott They sinned the show for following the same sinning standards as they did earlier in the video. It was hypocrisy. That was my point.

The show openly calls out how stupid translucent name is, and they were sinned for that. Meanwhile they also sinned Blacknoirs name for being stupid. Does it make sense now? My message was pretty damn clear in the first comment. Not sure why you're struggling with that.

DemonFusionGamer

Butcher would be diabolical at TVSins.

So I don't know if it comes yet or not.. But casting Simon Pegg as Hugies dad is a great gag and worthy of at least one sin removal. Why? Because in the original comics, Hugies apperance is based on Simon Pegg. Great gag. Sin removal worthy.
