The band was on both the 2005 and 2006 Vans Warped Tours (often on the smaller Ernie Ball Stage). They were also at the 2006 annual music festival held in the Phoenix area, "Edgefest".
The original album "An Offer You Can't Refuse" was composed of all band members except Dan Parker who was added to the line-up. A Change Of Pace also goes by the acronym "ACOP".
On June 1st, 2008, the band revealed on their MySpace blog how original singer, Torry Jasper would be replaced by their good friend Micah Bentley. The change brought about a new sound, as well as a new EP entitled "Just No Better Way." The news comes merely weeks before A Change of Pace heads out on their summer tour.
After delays, the band put forth their final LP in February 22, 2011, entitled "Couldn't Be Worse". It incorporated both of their older and newer sounds. Shortly thereafter, on March 13, it was announced on their Facebook page that after 10 years, they would disband, but not before playing a farewell show on April 22 at The Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona.
A Change of Pace mixed their own brand of metal, punk and emo.
The band members as of 2011:
Micah Bentley: Vocals
Jonathan Kelly: Drums
Johnny Abdullah: Bass, vocals
Adam Rodgers: Lead guitar
Dan Parker: Guitar

A Change of Pace Lyrics

The thoughts in my head keep running over
Again your redundant sympathy for me
could never make me feel any better
I'm falling, further, away from you
I stumble, still waiting, for your answer
screaming the words that never made sense
from the tears in your eyes to the smile on my face
you finally got, whats coming to you
Excesively stressful is what we've become
A burden upon which neither of us needs
The past is the past and should be left behind
The future is now let me change your mind
I'm falling, further, away from you
I stumble, still waiting, for your answer
This is the last time you'll hear my voice
Screaming the words that never made sense
From the tears in your eyes to the smile on my face
You finally got, whats coming to you (coming to you...)
Find a way to carry on, Don't think of me cause I'll be gone
And when the day comes to an end
You'll think of me and I'll think of you again
I'll never forget your melodic voice
This is the last time you'll hear my voice
Screaming the words that never made sense
From the tears in your eyes to the smile on my face
You finally got, whats coming to you
The song "Chippie" by A Change of Pace is a powerful and emotional song about a relationship that has come to an end. The singer is deeply affected by the relationship and is having a difficult time letting go. He trips over his words when he hears her voice and his thoughts keep running over, indicating that he is still struggling to come to terms with what has happened. However, he understands that her redundant sympathy for him could never make him feel any better.
The singer is falling further away from her and is stumbling, still waiting for her answer, possibly looking for closure. He screams the words that never made sense, indicating that he wants to express his feelings but cannot find the right way to articulate them. He acknowledges that their relationship has become excessively stressful and is a burden upon them both. He wants to leave the past behind, change her mind, and find a way to carry on.
The chorus repeats that this is the last time she will hear his voice, indicating that he is ready to move on and let go of the relationship. He finally got what’s coming to her (a reference to karma), indicating that he's ready to move on and accept that the relationship has ended. The last verse suggests that though the relationship has ended, the singer will never forget her 'melodic voice', suggesting sadness and acceptance.
