The band was on both the 2005 and 2006 Vans Warped Tours (often on the smaller Ernie Ball Stage). They were also at the 2006 annual music festival held in the Phoenix area, "Edgefest".
The original album "An Offer You Can't Refuse" was composed of all band members except Dan Parker who was added to the line-up. A Change Of Pace also goes by the acronym "ACOP".
On June 1st, 2008, the band revealed on their MySpace blog how original singer, Torry Jasper would be replaced by their good friend Micah Bentley. The change brought about a new sound, as well as a new EP entitled "Just No Better Way." The news comes merely weeks before A Change of Pace heads out on their summer tour.
After delays, the band put forth their final LP in February 22, 2011, entitled "Couldn't Be Worse". It incorporated both of their older and newer sounds. Shortly thereafter, on March 13, it was announced on their Facebook page that after 10 years, they would disband, but not before playing a farewell show on April 22 at The Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona.
A Change of Pace mixed their own brand of metal, punk and emo.
The band members as of 2011:
Micah Bentley: Vocals
Jonathan Kelly: Drums
Johnny Abdullah: Bass, vocals
Adam Rodgers: Lead guitar
Dan Parker: Guitar

A Change of Pace Lyrics

way too good
for anyone but me
think about it
because we know
you do
we start in december
this time
we start in december
we'll end in november
this time september
came too fast too soon
you'll run out of lies
all options have run dry
cause youre alone
i hope you suffer
we know
that you know
that we miss
we start in december
we'll end in november
this time
we start in december
we'll end in november
this time september
came too soon
we start in december
we'll end in november
this time september
came too soon
we start in december
we'll end in november
this time
we start in december
we'll end in november
this time september
came too soon
too soon
The lyrics of A Change of Pace's song "December" talk about a failed relationship that the singer should have seen coming. They mention how they believed the relationship was way too good for anyone but themselves, which may reflect an arrogance in believing they were the only one deserving of such a great relationship. The lyrics suggest that the other person involved may have been lying and that the singer hopes they suffer because of it.
The song is cyclical, starting and ending in December and November respectively, with September coming too soon. This repetition of the same months creates a sense of being stuck in a never-ending cycle of pain and disappointment. Overall, the song has a melancholic and regretful tone, emphasizing the hurt that comes with the end of a relationship.
