The band was on both the 2005 and 2006 Vans Warped Tours (often on the smaller Ernie Ball Stage). They were also at the 2006 annual music festival held in the Phoenix area, "Edgefest".
The original album "An Offer You Can't Refuse" was composed of all band members except Dan Parker who was added to the line-up. A Change Of Pace also goes by the acronym "ACOP".
On June 1st, 2008, the band revealed on their MySpace blog how original singer, Torry Jasper would be replaced by their good friend Micah Bentley. The change brought about a new sound, as well as a new EP entitled "Just No Better Way." The news comes merely weeks before A Change of Pace heads out on their summer tour.
After delays, the band put forth their final LP in February 22, 2011, entitled "Couldn't Be Worse". It incorporated both of their older and newer sounds. Shortly thereafter, on March 13, it was announced on their Facebook page that after 10 years, they would disband, but not before playing a farewell show on April 22 at The Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona.
A Change of Pace mixed their own brand of metal, punk and emo.
The band members as of 2011:
Micah Bentley: Vocals
Jonathan Kelly: Drums
Johnny Abdullah: Bass, vocals
Adam Rodgers: Lead guitar
Dan Parker: Guitar
Safe And Sound In Phone Lines
A Change of Pace Lyrics

You are enough to keep me
Wonderin' through the nights
That I've spent alone, alone
In hotels we are only voices
Kept safe and sound in phone lines
The distance makes the stronger weaken
Well, don't give away
What we've tried so hard to keep
All things are said
I will be enough for you
Afraid or not
I will be enough for you
When I am gone
I will be enough for you
All things are said
I will be enough
The road we take will be the long one
So hold on tight, don't leave me
Take my hand, I'll bring you safely
To home, your home
Across the country this I promise
I'll be back to take you on a
Trip to sunny, sandy beaches
But first we've gotta meet halfway
Don't throw away love
We've worked so hard to make
All things are said
I will be enough for you
Afraid or not
I will be enough for you
When I am gone
I will be enough for you
All things are said
I will be enough
So don't worry about time
It's not on our side
It never was before
Just forget about time
It's not on our side
That's never stopped us before, before
All things are said
Will I be enough for you?
Afraid or not
I will be enough
All things are said
I will be enough for you
Afraid or not
I will be enough for you
When I am gone
I will be enough for you
All things are said
I will be enough for you
The lyrics to "Safe and Sound in Phone Lines" are a longing love letter to a distant lover. The singer has discovered that their partner is the missing piece to their puzzles, saying "You are enough to keep me wonderin' through the nights that I've spent alone."
However, they are struggling with the distance between them as they are "only voices kept safe and sound in phone lines" when they're in hotels. The separation is difficult, and the singer recognizes that it can cause even the strongest relationships to weaken. Despite this, they reassure the partner that they will be enough for each other, whether they're together or apart.
The chorus repeats "All things are said, I will be enough for you," emphasizing the singer's commitment to making the relationship work. They promise to take the long road, holding on tight to the partner's hand and bringing them safely home. The relationship won't always be easy, but the singer asks their partner to not throw away their hard work and love.
Overall, "Safe and Sound in Phone Lines" is a beautiful expression of love in difficult circumstances, promising commitment even when distance makes it hard.
