The band was on both the 2005 and 2006 Vans Warped Tours (often on the smaller Ernie Ball Stage). They were also at the 2006 annual music festival held in the Phoenix area, "Edgefest".
The original album "An Offer You Can't Refuse" was composed of all band members except Dan Parker who was added to the line-up. A Change Of Pace also goes by the acronym "ACOP".
On June 1st, 2008, the band revealed on their MySpace blog how original singer, Torry Jasper would be replaced by their good friend Micah Bentley. The change brought about a new sound, as well as a new EP entitled "Just No Better Way." The news comes merely weeks before A Change of Pace heads out on their summer tour.
After delays, the band put forth their final LP in February 22, 2011, entitled "Couldn't Be Worse". It incorporated both of their older and newer sounds. Shortly thereafter, on March 13, it was announced on their Facebook page that after 10 years, they would disband, but not before playing a farewell show on April 22 at The Clubhouse in Tempe, Arizona.
A Change of Pace mixed their own brand of metal, punk and emo.
The band members as of 2011:
Micah Bentley: Vocals
Jonathan Kelly: Drums
Johnny Abdullah: Bass, vocals
Adam Rodgers: Lead guitar
Dan Parker: Guitar

bittersweet the taste is like ash in my mouth
love we had it you're a bad habit
I'm ready to give you up i give up
silly me for thinking honesty is something given free
i make the rules and this is how it ends
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
scenes of passion never lasted
your mistakes are too much to put behind
i am tired with no desire
to put together things that just fall apart
silly me for thinking honesty is something given free
i make the rules and this is how it ends
heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
then watch you fall
silly me for thinking honesty is something given free
i make the rules and this is how it ends
heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
heartbreak baby is half the fun
you bring the bullets i'll bring the guns
take ten steps now turn and draw
i shoot from the hip then watch you fall
The lyrics to A Change of Pace's song Shoot From The Hip depicts a situation where the singer has fallen out of love with their significant other. The singer speaks of how they once saw their relationship as "picture perfect" but now see it as "worthless" and "bittersweet." They then go on to describe the relationship as a "bad habit" that they are ready to give up.
The second verse is where the true meaning of the song comes to light. The singer admits to making the mistake of thinking that honesty is free and that it should come easily in a relationship. They realize that they are the ones who make the rules and that their relationship will end how they want it to. The chorus takes on the vibe of a western shoot-out with the singer calling the relationship a "heartbreak baby" and challenging their partner to "take ten steps now turn and draw" because "I shoot from the hip then watch you fall."
In conclusion, A Change of Pace's song Shoot From The Hip speaks about the end of a relationship where the singer has grown tired and has fallen out of love with their partner. The song exudes themes of dominance and control, with the singer ultimately claiming that they make the rules and that the relationship will end on their terms.
