In an interview with www.spinner.com, Sudol shared how she came up with the name "(I) had a bunch of books open on a table, "a fine frenzy" jumped off a page of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' [Shakespeare] and it was just right, though every now and then I wonder if it's a bit ... flowery."
Sudol developed the sound of A Fine Frenzy - hypnotic piano arrangements under classic American melody fused into irresistible, atmospheric songs with the power to reach around the world.
The second album, Bomb in a Birdcage, was released on 8 September 2009. A third album, Pines, was released in 2012.

Come On Come Out
A Fine Frenzy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The weather is warm
Come on, come out
Said come on, come on
A spot in the shade
Where oranges fall
A spot in the shade
Watching the sky
Watching a painting coming to life
Shifting and shaping
Staying inside
It all goes it all goes by
A blanket unfolds
A blanket tonight
The pieces of gold
They light up your eyes
Now we're alone
Now we're alive
Watching the sky
Watching the painting come to life
Shifting and shaping
Staying inside
It all goes it all goes it all goes by
Stopping the time
Rushing, waiting
Leave it behind
Shifting and shaping
Keep it inside
It all goes it all goes it all goes by
It all goes passing by
It all goes passing by
The song “Come On Come Out” by A Fine Frenzy is a whimsical and refreshing tune. The first stanza is an invitation to come out and enjoy the warm weather. The singer is calling out to someone to enjoy a moment of relaxation in the shade with oranges falling around them. The singer’s prominence on using the phrase “Come on” further emphasizes the theme of levity and playful enjoyment.
The next stanza further cements the carefree mood by portraying an image of the sky being watched and a painting coming to life. This all seems to be happening whilst being comfortably in a cozy spot in the shade as the world passes by. The image of the painting is a lovely way of describing the ever-changing sky, which further highlights the idea of impermanence.
The chorus of the song focuses on the idea of enjoying the present moment by leaving all worries behind. The line, “It all goes passing by,” is a reminder of how quickly time moves on and not to get caught up in it all. Finally, the last line of the song, “It all goes passing by,” encapsulates the entire message of the song perfectly.

I had a girlfriend during my senior year of high school and our relationship was the embodiment of this song. The beauty, pure joy, the golden rays of sunshine this song inspires in ones mind; it was all there. Sadly, we parted ways but I will always love her in some way. We used to listen to this song together and every time I hear it I’m reminded of the beautiful friendship and sweet romance we had. We have incredible memories together and it was as close to perfection as two people can be. This song wells up all of those emotions at once and strangely, I don’t feel sad. Just grateful that I was able to share such a beautiful moment in time with such a beautiful person. You will always hold a special place in my heart, Em.
