A Global Threat Lyrics

They're seven inches late
Here we are, too hard, too fast!
And I'm just the cynic to tell you
It just don't move me at all
Bubblegum punk trying to cater
To a crowd without any rules!
Here we are, too hard, too fast!
And we don't need a fashion injection
Or a sales slip to tell us we're right
You look like a band tagged wall
And we don't need your sponsors
To tell us what we like
Never mind that disease
Here's some reality
Here we are, too hard, too fast?
Too bad!
Here we are, too hard, too fast!
And if you're not I hope you don't last
Cause I'm sick of watered down shit
You're on the wrong side
So fuck off and die!
The lyrics of "Here We Are" by A Global Threat exhibit the band's discontent with the current state of punk music. The opening lines of "There's a fifteen-minute fad rule, they're seven inches late" criticize the hype cycle of songs or bands that grab attention for a moment and then disappear rather quickly. The song as a whole portrays the band's frustration with the commodification of punk, of the fashion trends that commercialize the genre and disregard the chaotic, rebellious energy that originally defined it.
As the song progresses, the band reiterates their sentiment of punk insecurity and dissatisfaction with sell-outs, proclaiming, "Bubblegum punk trying to cater to a crowd without any rules!" They firmly establish that their music is not just for profit or commercial success, but rather an expression of rebellion and resistance to the norms of society.
The lyrics "Never mind that disease, here's some reality" express the band's frustration with the current state of the world, which they deem to be full of hyped-up fads and drama that only serve to detract from reality. Within this context, they assert that their music - unadulterated, fast, raw, and unapologetic - is a voice of authenticity and an antidote to the fake and dishonest lyrics that seem to dominate the punk scene.
