The Wanderer
A Life Once Lost Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Last in line to beat the dead horse
I try and try but who cares at the end of the day
I figure that you only wanted to make me feel this way
So that you can feel better about yourself
I will dance across the floor
I'm pointing fingers
And laughing
Destroy me
Second best
I had nothing more to give
Is it safe to say that none of this mattered anyway
Now I've become the wanderer
Forced to become a man who is
Searching for something real to feel
Now I've become the wanderer
The lyrics of A Life Once Lost's song The Wanderer are emotional and introspective. The song explores themes of creation, destruction, and the feeling of being lost. The first lines talk about the singer's frustration with being the first one to create something but the last one to benefit from it. He then talks about feeling unimportant and not being cared for. The second verse then turns on its head as he accuses the listener of wanting him to feel this way so that they can feel better about themselves. However, despite all this, he feels powerful and confidently dances and points fingers at those who try to bring him down.
The chorus is where the title of the song comes in. The singer declares that he has become a wanderer because he has nothing left to give. He is now searching for something real to feel, something to ground him and give him a sense of purpose. The song ends with the words "Now I've become the wanderer" repeated, emphasizing that the singer is still lost and searching.
Overall, The Wanderer is a powerful and relatable song that speaks to anyone who has ever felt lost or unappreciated. It's a reminder that we can still find strength and purpose even when we feel like everything has fallen apart.
