Outta My Head
A S Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Sally goes 'round the roses
Every night
Trying to find a warm place
To spend the night
She becomes a target
Soon as she rise
Somebody wants to cut her
Down to his size

It's a sad bad feeling
It's a sad bad feeling
It's a sad bad feeling
The feeling's in my bones
It won't leave me alone

I'm going out, out of my head, I'm going out, outta my head
I'm going out, out of my head, I'm going out, outta my head

Jimmy goes round the dumpsters every day
Trying to find a way to
Some kind of way
He knows he's a target
Everyone is
Strangle that rock and roll star
Make him eat jizz

It's a sad bad feeling
It's a sad bad feeling
It's a sad bad feeling
The feeling's in my bones
It won't leave me alone

I'm going out, out of my head, I'm going out, outta my head
I'm going out, out of my head, I'm going out, outta my head

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to A S's song "Outta My Head" tell a story about two individuals (Sally and Jimmy) who are struggling to survive on the streets, constantly facing threats of violence and degradation. Sally, described as "trying to find a warm place to spend the night," is likely homeless and seeking shelter wherever she can. However, she is also at risk of being attacked ("somebody wants to cut her down to his size") simply for existing in her vulnerable state. Similarly, Jimmy searches through dumpsters for sustenance and is aware that he is a target for those who wish to harm him. The line "strangle that rock and roll star, make him eat jizz" suggests that Jimmy may be a musician or performer, but is not respected or appreciated by those around him.

As the chorus says, the situation is a "sad bad feeling" that cannot be shaken. The singer (singer) of the song feels like they are "going out of my head" from the weight of this reality. The repeated phrase "I'm going out, outta my head" conveys a sense of desperation and perhaps even a desire to escape from a world that is cruel and unforgiving.

Overall, "Outta My Head" speaks to the harshness of life for those who are marginalized and struggling. It suggests that there is an underlying violence and hostility that is directed towards those who are vulnerable, and that this reality is deeply entrenched in society.

This song is honestly such a damn bop man. It’s aged phenomenally well. Ashlee Simpson was underrated and deserved better.

YES

Daniel

Ashlee Simpson ALWAYS understood the assignment. All three of her albums were IT. Iconic song, iconic album, iconic artist.

Depending on your opinion lobby wouldn’t like her last album I liked all three but her last name was the weakest my opinion but I still enjoyed it is just other people did not enjoy because some people say that was her worst album I don’t think it was I don’t think any worse but yeah that’s why but I think it’s also because of what happen with SNL people couldn’t let that go I mean people made a big deal about nothing because if you watch her show you can tell she was telling the truth you know about her voice love you made a big deal over nothing that album didn’t do good and he was the only reason it has a stupid reason they missed out on a good album but I think it true fans fans no matter what

holly pietrzak

how come she made an album since 2007 anyway?

WTH? I was teenager during Jessica then Ashlee's rise, and it was obvious from the beginning Ashlee had no musical talent. A couple years after Jessica made it big, Ashlee immediately hit the scene using Jessica's wealth to put out a well produced, marketed album, with elaborate music videos. It was obviously Jessica's money. There isn't necessarily anything wrong with coming from wealth I should add. But her sound sounded contrived, like "Jessica is bubble gum pop so I'm gonna be the the rock alternative." However, a complete lack of talent can only take you so far and her career came to an abrupt end after she got exposed.

@debussy843 wow. I strongly disagree. Ashlee Simpson has incredible potential and her three albums are (to me) three absolute pop gems ripe with fire bops

Rich

This was that Era when Timbaland was producing the best beats for EVERYONE.

Lola Lopes
