A Scent Like Wolves Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
No more mixed signals to send.
I’ll fuckin’ write this story’s end.
It’s time to let our lives begin
I won’t take you back again.
No more mixed signals to send.
I’ll fuckin’ write this story’s end.
The lyrics are from A Scent Like Wolves's song Prologue and express the sentiment of finality and closure in a relationship. The singer declares that they will not allow themselves to be drawn back into a cycle of confusion and emotional turmoil by refusing to send mixed signals. They take control of the situation by declaring that they will end the story themselves, no longer waiting for the other person to make a decision. This is symbolized by the end of the story, signaling not just the end of the relationship, but also the end of a chapter in the singer's life.
The repetition of the opening line "I won't take you back again" emphasizes the singer's determination to move forward and leave the past behind. This is not just an expression of anger or bitterness, but rather a proclamation of self-respect and a refusal to allow themselves to be treated poorly. By taking charge of their own narrative and ending the story, the singer is able to start a new chapter and begin a new phase of their life.
Overall, the lyrics in Prologue illustrate the importance of closure and taking control of one's own life. By refusing to be drawn back into unhealthy patterns, the singer is able to create a new beginning for themselves.
