A Better Place
A Verse Unsung Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But the worst is yet to come.
So don't leave me while I'm here,
You won't forget me while I'm gone.
We lost our ways again, back to the end.
Locked in my head for 20 days,
My aggravation running high,
The guilt runs out I'm falling down.
We lost our ways again, back to the end.
So we try, we try but we lost our way.
So we try, we try but we lost our way.
A better place, awaits me with out you.
Sometimes we walk alone right back to what we know
The lyrics to A Verse Unsung's song A Better Place speak to the experience of feeling lost and disillusioned, with the singer cautioning that the worst is yet to come. It is a plea to a loved one not to abandon them in this moment of turmoil, asking them not to forget them when they are gone. The repetition of the phrase "We lost our way again" highlights a sense of repetition or cyclical nature to the struggles the singer is experiencing.
The second half of the song deals with a specific experience of being stuck in one's own head for an extended period of time, feeling a sense of frustration and anger building up. Despite trying to find a way out of this situation, the singer can't seem to break free, eventually accepting that a better place awaits without the other person.
