In Febuary 1998 Andreas left the band to concentrate on his studies, but first in Daniel Hauenstein and since December 2001 in Hiyu Utakai they found a replacement more than worthy.
Their compositions unite the influences of the Thrash, Heavy und Death Metal of the last decade in all its various styles. Power, aggression and melody are combined to a harmonic general concept, which fascinates a varied auditory. AARDVARKS create their atmospheric sound – as a counterpole to most acts of the current genre - without the use of any keyboards, just with the traditional intruments. Their songs exist of slow-melodic parts as well as pulsing mid-tempo riffings or sceaming-brutal thrash-parts.

There is one band called "AARDVARKS" and a few more called "The Aardvarks", several of whom have tracks listed against this listing for Aardvarks.
According to the Searchin’ For Shakes database there are four garage groups called the "The Aardvarks".
1) One of the three American groups that used the name were from Muskegon and released a few singles. Probably their most well-known number is the blazing garage-psych tune “I’m Higher Than I’m Down”, included on many comps (most notably Pebbles Vol 11).
2) In the mid-1980’s, a London group called The Aardvarks got together. They’ve got two singles and one album to their name - the a-side of their first 7” was compiled on The Children of Nuggets box in 2005. Inspired by the best in 60s sounds (Mod, garage, pop-art, psychedelia, freakbeat), London’s The Aardvarks were formed in Ealing, as part of the same scene which eventually reared Kula Shaker. For many years, they were one of the most popular bands on the Mod and 60s Revival circuit, issuing a string of acclaimed 45s on labels such as Screaming Apple and Detour. The Aardvarks’ 12-year lifespan is remembered on the ‘Sinker, Line and Hook - The Anthology 1987-1999’ compilation on Cherry Red Records, built around their 1995 album for Delerium, Bargain, while also offering an equal number of choice tracks from elsewhere. The ‘Varks tasted brief fame in the 90s, appearing on the James Whale TV Show and even supporting Bonnie Tyler!
Meat
Aardvarks Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My vision's prepared by my lust
my senses are searching for signs
the only thing that I can trust
The scent of musk fills my nose
Hot eyes staring deep into mine
the steaming curves of her flesh
hit me right into my spine
Roaming through alleys in darkness
in search for pulsing blood
the smell of the living surrounds me
exciting my undead heart
The centuries building my memory
are wiped away by my greed
in the face of my paralysed prey
my cold brain is sceaming for meat
Meat to feed my body
Blood to fill my vein
Carnal need corrupts control
just to keep me sane
Meat to cause existance
Flesh to please my soul
Carnal greed reflects the hunger
that I can't control
Feeling the hunger inside me
wakening savage desire
grabbing the fat-dripping pieces
roasted on hot glowing fire
biting and chewing the lumps
swallowing what used to live
achieving the sweet satisfaction
a well-filled stomache can give
Meat to feed my body
Blood to fill my vein
Carnal need corrupts control
just to keep me sane
Meat to cause existance
Flesh to please my soul
Carnal greed enjoys the hunger
that I won't control
The Aardvarks' song "Meat" is a macabre depiction of a vampire's insatiable hunger for flesh and blood. The lyrics are divided into two verses, each describing the vampire's hunt for prey in two different settings. The first verse describes the vampire's search for a human victim in a crowd, relying on his senses to detect the signs of their presence. The use of words like "lust," "musk," and "steaming curves" creates a vivid image of the vampire's animalistic desire, while also emphasizing the sexual undertones of the hunt.
The second verse takes place in a more secluded, dark alley, where the vampire's hunger reaches its peak. The imagery of "pulsing blood" and "smell of the living" reinforces the idea of the vampire as a predator, excited by the thought of taking a life. The vampire's lack of empathy or mercy towards his prey is highlighted by the line "my cold brain is screaming for meat," which suggests that his hunger has overridden any rational thought or human emotion.
The chorus of the song, which repeats twice, is a commentary on the vampire's primal need for sustenance. The lines "meat to feed my body, blood to fill my vein" suggest that his craving is purely physical, while the lyrics "carnal need corrupts control, just to keep me sane" imply that his hunger is slowly driving him mad. The final line of the chorus, "carnal greed reflects the hunger that I can't control," underscores the tragic aspect of the vampire's existence - he is a slave to his appetites, unable to break free from his cursed existence.
Overall, "Meat" is a haunting exploration of the darker side of human desire, and a reminder that even the most terrifying monsters are often driven by a basic need for survival.
