Aarni's superintelligent lyrics take form in the language believed most suitable for the song's subject: usually in English, Classical Latin or Finnish and occasionally in French, Ancient Egyptian, Hebrew, German, Enochian, Glossolalic, Ouranian-Barbaric et cetera.
Aarni has of course always existed, but the current incarnation's story began in the autumn of 1998 ev, when M.·.M.·. suddenly began solitarily developing his vague musical ideas further. He got telepathetic messages from the unicorn dolphin elder of Sirius B, who begged M.·.M.·. to reawaken the ancient Xothian aural technology tradition called aarni. Soon after choosing to comply with the demands of these psychotic transmissions, Comte de Saint-Germain appeared to him and immediately joined Aarni. When the two gentlemen conducted an unsuccessful necromantic ritual at Moominpappa's cenotaph, a third member's addition to the band took place: Doomintroll. Simultaneously the first letter of Mahatma M's surname semi-accidentally flipped over completing his mutation into Master Warjomaa.
The fourth band member does not really act as a "proper" musician, but seems nonetheless to partake in Aarni's creative processes. For Mistress Palm seems in fact composed entirely of artificial, phlogiston-driven rectoplasm and due to her apparently incorporeal nature can only exist on a computer's hard disk.
Now work nears completion on Aarni's third studio album aka 'Lovecraftian'.
Myrrys
Aarni Lyrics

Yksinäni uneksin, haltioissa ylenin
Öinen rauha, pilvien like
Lensin yli metsien, keralla pilvien
Sammasta kiipesin kannelle taivaan
Salot siniset, kammiot kultaisetJuoksimme taivaan niityillä läpi tähtitarhain
Ikimenneiden ilmoilta, kadonneiden kartanoilta
Varman viisauden tapasin, elon kullan löysin
Sammasta laskeuduin kannelta taivaan.
[English translation:]
The voice of the wind, the shadows of trees
Alone I dreamt, in spirit-powers grew;
Nocturnal calm, the movement of clouds
Amongst them I over the forests flew.
I ascended the World Tree to the Dome of the heavens
Blue-hued islands, golden chambers
In the meadows of heaven we ran through the stars;
From the lands of the deceased and tracts of the lost
True wisdom I found, Life's Gold I discovered.
I descended the World Tree from the Dome of the heavens.
The lyrics of "Myrrys" by Aarni seem to describe a spiritual journey or dream-like experience where the singer is alone, but their spirit seems to be ascending over the forest, and soaring through the clouds. The singer hears the voice of the wind and sees the shadows of trees, and as they continue their ascent, they climb the World Tree to the Dome of the heavens. It is here that they encounter blue-hued islands and golden chambers, and they run through the stars in the meadows of heaven. The singer discovers true wisdom and Life's Gold before descending back down from the Dome of the heavens.
The use of imagery is prominent in this song as it seeks to establish a connection between the natural world and a spiritual realm. The use of the World Tree as a metaphorical route for the singer to ascend to the heavens suggests that there is a belief in interconnectedness and cosmic unity between all things. The idea of discovering true wisdom and Life's Gold in this spiritual journey signifies the importance of personal growth, spiritual enlightenment, and the pursuit of knowledge.
