On the first AaRON album, they covered the song Strange Fruit, a song which was made famous by Billie Holiday. The version they perform on the album is drawn largely from Nina Simone's rendition on her 1965 album Pastel Blues.

Inner Streets
Aaron Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But don't be scared
No one really gets into my head
There's a whole world in there
No one cares way too many things to share
Lost in the desert
Feeling incomplete
Somewhere home
Hiding the best part
Showing the cheap
Side of myself
Anytime you're here
I may be crazy but don't be scared
No one really gets into my head
And in my world, I never fall
In my world, I never fall
Lost in the desert
I feel incomplete
I wanted to go
Somewhere home
Hiding the best part
Showing the cheap
Side of myself
Anytime you're here
The lyrics of "Inner Streets" by Aaron express feelings of isolation and disconnection from the world. The artist begins by acknowledging his perception of being crazy and assuring the listener that they have no reason to feel scared. He further reveals that his mind is a complex world on its own, and no one truly understands him. He continues with a contrasting scene of being lost in the desert, feeling incomplete, and longing for a sense of belonging. Through these lines, the artist tries to convey his struggle with feeling misunderstood and his quest for a place to call home. He then opens up about hiding his true self, only showing the cheap parts to others. However, he assures the listener that in his world, he never falls, signifying his ability to find solace within himself despite the external chaos.
The artist's use of contrasting imagery, such as the "whole world in [his] head" and feeling "lost in the desert," portrays the complexities of human emotion and perception. Through the lyrics, Aaron depicts the struggle of finding oneself amidst societal pressures and expectations. This song is a reminder that everyone experiences moments of isolation and self-doubt, but it's important to keep pushing forward and find the strength within.
