On the first AaRON album, they covered the song Strange Fruit, a song which was made famous by Billie Holiday. The version they perform on the album is drawn largely from Nina Simone's rendition on her 1965 album Pastel Blues.

In "Onassis," Aaron walks away from a destructive relationship that has been depleted by too much pushing of boundaries. He is left with nothing to lose, wandering the streets free of disillusionment. Despite being frozen by the Onassis lake and gazing at wild geese, he holds on to hope that life is a long migration toward the sun. He walks away from "everything we know" and is now free to be himself.
The lyrics reflect a struggle between holding on to what one knows and forging a path forward into the unknown. Aaron realizes that sometimes walking away is the only way to find oneself again. With his hands in his pockets, he roams the streets with a newfound sense of freedom. The song suggests that sometimes boundaries can be pushed too far, leaving only destruction in their wake. However, despite this destruction, there is still hope for a better future, and Aaron plans to keep moving forward until he finds it.
