One More Day
Aaron Neville Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And you will know our love was, meant to be
One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl
The arms I long for, will open wide
And you'll be proud to have me, right by your side
One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl
Though I know you're the kind of boy
Who only wants to run around
You'll come to me when you want to settle down,
Oh!
One fine day, we'll meet once more
And then you'll want the love you threw away before
One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl
One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl
The lyrics of Aaron Neville's song One More Day express the hopes and dreams of a woman who is deeply in love with a man who she knows isn't fully committed to her yet. The woman believes that one fine day, the man will realize that their love was always meant to be, and that he will want her to be his partner for life. Despite knowing that the man is someone who enjoys his freedom and likes to play around, the woman remains patient and steadfast in her love for him, and believes that one day he will come to his senses and come back to her.
The song is a beautiful expression of optimism and faith in love. It shows how love can be all-encompassing and can shape one's entire life, influencing every thought and action. It is a testament to the power of love, and how it can give hope and strength in even the darkest of times.
