Aaron Shust Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I will give you rest
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me
For I am gentle and humble in heart
For My yoke is easy
And My burden is light
The lyrics of Aaron Shust's song "Come To Me" offer an invitation to those who have burdens and feel weary. The invitation is from a gentle and humble heart that offers rest and relief from the weight that they are carrying. The invitation comes with an offer to take on the yoke of learning from this gentle and humble heart. It is an invitation to participate in a journey that will be easy to navigate and a burden that will be light to bear.
The lyrics can be interpreted as a spiritual invitation, where the gentle and humble heart being referred to is that of Jesus Christ, who invites those who are weary and burdened to come to him for rest. The yoke referred to is a symbol of discipleship, with the invitation to learn from Jesus Christ as he is gentle and humble in heart. The lyrics are simple and straightforward, yet packed with an invitation to surrender and receive.
