Ab-Soul Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Featuring: Alori Joh)

(Verse 1:)
See, I just wanna take my chopper
And aim it right at that copper
Just locked up my partner
... they can't stop us
I'm prolly all alone on this one (x4)

(Bridge: Ab-Soul & Alori Joh)
Inhale, exhale
Inhale, exhale

I'm prolly all alone on this one (x2)
Prolly all on this one (x2)

(Hook:)
Who's bold enough to rebel?
Re... bel
Re...
Who's bold enough to rebel?
Re... bel
Re...

(Hook: Alori Joh)
That's the joint, that's the jam
Turn it up, play it again
That's the joint, that's the jam
Turn it up, play it again
That's the joint
That's the jam
Turn it up
Play it again

I might all alone on this one (x9)

(Verse 2:)
I just wanna grab that heater
Run right in the cathedral
Aim it right at that preacher
For miseducating the people

I might all alone on this one (x4)

(Bridge: Ab-Soul & Alori Joh)
Inhale, exhale
Inhale, exhale

(Verse 3:)
I just wanna take that banger
And aim it right at my Maker
For placing me 'round all this danger
I can't even trust my neighbor

I know I'm all alone on this one (x5)

(Bridge: Ab-Soul & Alori Joh)
Inhale, exhale
Inhale, exhale

I know I'm all alone on this one (x3)

(Hook:)
Who's bold enough to rebel?
Re... bel
Re... bel

(Hook: Alori Joh)
That's the joint, that's the jam
Turn it up, play it again
That's the joint, that's the jam
Turn it up, play it again
That's the joint
That's the jam

Turn it up
Play it again

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Ab-Soul Feat. Alori Joh's song "A Rebellion" express the desire to rebel against the oppressive systems in place. The singer speaks of wanting to take up arms against the police, the church, and even their own creator. The repeated phrase, "I'm prolly all alone on this one," suggests a sense of isolation and isolation in the desire for rebellion. The hook poses the question, "Who's bold enough to rebel?" as a challenge to the listener to join the cause.

The use of the chopper, heater, and banger as weapons implies a sense of violence in the rebellion. The singer's frustration with their surroundings and the lack of trust in those around them is palpable in the lyrics. The bridge, with its repeated inhale and exhale, suggests a moment of meditation and contemplation.

I pray somewhere down the line this project gets every single amount of acknowledgment and recognition it deserves for being one of the most transparent and necessary projects out of TDE, this man is a blessing

@Dextrose 44 Were blessed to have this mans music always in our subconscious. Crazy to think I've been listening to solo for 12+ years.

Tour De Force

There is just a lovely sentiment to this song. I honestly just love the beat but it's really the fact that Alori and Soul are harmonising here on a song where Ab seems to almost be torn up that he's all alone now.

Playa 1
