Something
Abbey Road Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
Somewhere in her smile she knows
Something in her style that shows me
Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know
Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me
Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
Something
in the way she moves is a love song written by George Harrison, the guitarist of the Beatles. It is said that he wrote the song for his wife, Pattie Boyd, who he was married to at the time. Harrison was inspired by the music of James Taylor and the song has a strong acoustic guitar presence because of this. When Paul McCartney first heard the song, he commented that it was beautiful and should be the lead single for the album Abbey Road.
The lyrics of the song are simple but powerful. Harrison sings about how something in the way his lover moves and woos him attracts him like no other. He expresses his desire to not leave her and his belief in their love. The song is filled with a sense of uncertainty about the future of their relationship but also shows a deep level of commitment.
Interestingly, the song features a beautiful guitar solo played by Harrison that is considered one of the greatest guitar solos of all time. The solo was actually recorded separately from the rest of the song and was added in later. The song was also one of the last recordings made by the Beatles before they disbanded.
The song has been covered many times by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and James Taylor. It has also been featured in multiple films and TV shows, including the movie Goodfellas and the TV show Mad Men.

George was like that guy that chooses his words carefully and is always quiet but when he chooses to speak it's always brilliance. Not a lot of songs but the ones he did write are all amazing
@angelinap4540
I agree, but he wrote many songs. Check out the stuff from his solo career and I’m sure you’ll love it. There’s some really amazing work there!
