William (Bud) Abbott and Lou Costello (born Louis Francis Cristillo) were an American comedy duo whose work in radio, film and television made them the most popular comedy team during the 1940s.
Thanks to the endurance of their most popular and influential routine, "Who's on First?"β whose rapid-fire word play and comprehension confusion set the preponderant framework for most of their best-known routinesβthe team is, as a result, featured in the Baseball Hall of Fame. (Contrary to popular belief, however, the duo was not inducted into the Hall).
Bud Abbott was born in Asbury Park, NJ, October 2, 1895 and died April 24, 1974 in Woodland Hills, California.
Lou Costello was born in Paterson, NJ, March 6, 1906 and died March 3, 1959 in East Los Angeles, California.

Fun fact; Stinky, played by Joe Besser, actually became one of The Three Stooges.
After Shemp had passed away, Joe became the 3rd Stooge. And he's considered to be the worst member of The Three Stooges.
He wasn't horrible, but his comedic giant child & feminine slap schtick didn't fit the style of The Three Stooges.
Plus it didn't help either that he barely took a comedic slap or punch like Curly & Shemp. He always chickened out from them.
And half the short movies Joe did with them where remakes of Stooges's previous short movies & they where not as funny as the original short movies.
So Joe didn't last long & afterwards he was replaced by Curly Joe DeRita, who became the 3rd member until the group was no more, especially after both Moe & Larry had passed away.
I would say Joe Besser's comedic schtick worked better here than on The Three Stooges.

The 7 x 13 = 28 routine also appears in the 1941 film In the Navy. But instead of room rent it was counting doughnuts.

Kerry, if you have not seen Abbott and Costello's "Who's On First" joke, it is their most famous routine.

@@KerryTriesIt Yeah, "Whose on first" and the maths equation you just watched are probably their two most famous routines.

Thereβs two versions of Whoβs on First? The short version that most people react to and the longer radio version which stars Marilyn Maxwell and Skinnay Ennis.
@rickiovine2170
