worm
Abortus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Live your life in fear rely on your dependence
push the blame believe you're shit always pretending
we're all at fault except the image in the mirror
truth it hurts when spoken easier to cower
[chorus]
eat the worm
eat the worm
eat the worm
choke on dirt worm
Circle of despair now healing your dependence
shoulders yearn for tears now needing some attention
[repeat chorus]
Live your life in fear
rely on your dependence
push the blame on anyone
you're just pretending
everyone's at fault
except the mirror image
truth it hurts when it's
so much easier to cower

much easier to cower
You fucking worm

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to the song "Worm" by Abortus seem to be about the idea of living in fear and relying on one's dependence, whether that be on another person or a substance. The lyrics suggest that people often push the blame on others and pretend as though they are not responsible for their own actions. The idea of the mirror image is also present, suggesting that the singer is questioning people about the way they view themselves and their own faults. The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "eat the worm" and "choke on dirt worm", which could be interpreted as a metaphor for facing one's fears and taking responsibility for one's actions, as if to say "swallow your pride and face the truth".

The song seems to be critical of the idea of living in fear and pretending to be something you're not. It suggests that it is easier to "cower" in the face of truth than to face it head-on. The repetition of certain phrases, such as "live your life in fear", "rely on your dependence", and "push the blame on anyone", emphasize the cycle of behavior that the singer is trying to break. Additionally, the use of the offensive insult "you fucking worm" in the last line of the song suggests a feeling of frustration or anger towards those who refuse to face their own faults and take responsibility for their own lives.

HOW COULD I?

The innocent are dying,
All over this land.
We're cutting life short,
Due to "poor circumstance."
"Anything to please me!"
"Anything I boast!"
Anything that "matters,"
But what matters most!
How could I?

How could I do this,
To a part of myself?
Listening to the TV,
Got me living in Hell.
"Just do what you want to!"
"It's all a matter of choice!"
All I really did,
Was end my baby's voice!
How could I?

I'll never see you growing.
I'll never hold your hand.
I was called to be more,
My baby's champion.
They said I was "too young."
They said I "can't do it alone."
Why didn't they tell me,
How my soul would groan?
How could I?

Hearts broken in two,
Overflowing in pain,
Now doing what is right,
By your righteous name.
After all of this is over,
Everything said and done,
Jesus let me see my baby,
In your everlasting arms!
How can I?

Grow up, Michele… We are not miracles, although having watched my niece and nephew from gestation onward, I can understand why some people think we are

There’s nothing miraculous about the conception’s, gestations, or births of humans or animals… In fact, I’d wait you to say that because they are over 8, billion human beings in this world, we are less of a miracle, and more of a plague.

You are so arrogant to think that you or I or any other human beings miraculous simply because we are individuals

True, there will never be another you or another me and we cannot be replicated, but that doesn’t make us miraculous!

That’s just hubris, arrogance, ego, and immaturity. Not to mention a healthy dose of toxic individuality.

Grow. Up.

I really liked this one!! The acting and cinematography was pleasantly well done, as well as the idiosyncrasies riddled throughout the film.
