The band split up about 10 years ago, unfortunately. Caleb (Spillyards) went on to join School Boy Humor for a short time, and took several of our songs he and I had written with him. This is why you might hear similar songs from their earlier tracks and their album.

It's crazy to me that this song is the one that caught the most attention and views out of ours (7+ million and counting), as it took the least amount of time to write and compose. We were in the studio recording i think Dialing for Disclosure, when I played the verses for this song picking on my guitar. After that it took about 15 minutes for Cory Lamb (our vocalist at the time) to come up with the premise and some of the lyrics. Where we spent hours and hours practicing and writing our other songs, this one took maybe an hour total because it was special from the jump and we knew it. Cory had lost a cousin to suicide recently, and it was like the lyrics flowed out of him automatically.

We, I, anybody, NEVER expected it to get so much attention when we recorded it 10+ years ago. We certainly never expected so many people to identify with it, and it's humbling. I listen to it now after going through a lot in my own life, and I'm taken aback. It hits home.

So thank you to those that uploaded it, covered it, made lyric vids out of it, etc. You actually helped ME, one of the ones that composed this song originally. Thank you all for keeping a tiny unknown band, from a tiny unknown state, and a tiny little unknown tune ALIVE :)

This is my story.
The age of 12 i cut for the first time. As i saw the blood trickle and fall into the bathroom sink everything melted away. The sadness, the sorrow, the pain of being bullied because at the time i was over weight, my mom was on pills she didnt even act like a mom. No one knew just how bad i truly was. I got a gun for christmas that year, a 20 Guage shotgun. That next september i got so over stressed i took a shell loaded my gun and put it in my mouth. If i would've pulled the trigger, the bullies woulda won. They woulda proved themselfs right. My family would have lost me forever and my one would've never saw me again.
It does get better, i am living proof of that. I worked out, i found a sport, i found something that relaxs me. The thing about being in that situation is to never give up. I am 16 years old now, i am doing great in school. I am in good physical condition. 6'2" 200 pounds, running and working out 4 days a week. No one fucks with me. No one talks shit, especially towards my face. If i hear about it i call em out. I get in there face and let them decide what to do. Ive had one person swing, he hit me, i stayed standing. I looked at him with a wicked grin. He stepped back i stepped forward, i hit him once he was knocked out. No one fucks with me at all anymore. I have a girlfriend of nearing 6 months saturday. Shes my saving angel and i couldnt do life without her. Shes my bestfriend my whole world. She helps me when no one else can. She is amazingly beautiful and my everything.
Life gets better you just got to make it better yourself. Wake up and pretty much just be ready for whatever life has to throw at you. People say life is a bitch but instead make life your bitch. Make it your rag doll control your life. Dont end it, make it better. Make it yours to live and rule.

My story is similar. I started cutting when I was 11 and I kept it hidden for about a year until one of my friends noticed the slits on my wrist. I became more and more depressed as more people found out and the guy that I loved fell in love with my best friend. I was about to commit suicide one day when I got a text from my best friend telling me, begging me to stay because if I left then that would mean the guy who I once loved would win and all the remarks he made behind my back would've been true. I stayed and now I'm happy as ever. I'm 14 now and I have a boyfriend nearing 9 months and he's the most amazing person in the world. I hope your life is still going well and I once felt your pain.

family had to hide blades and meds from me so I don't fall off that edge . I ended up scratching my wrist yesterday. today I'm trying not to burn my scratches . I get depressed to the point of forgetting to eat and if I eat my stomach will hurt and I will throw up . I was diagnosed with depression at age 13 when I tried to shoot myself in the head in my middle school bathroom when I was in the 7th grade . the only thing that kept me from fixing the gun, bc the gun had jammed when I pulled the trigger, was a teacher who was the only father I had . I had a student give this teacher my suicide note . I was being bullied at school bc I was white and bc I was bisexual. I felt alone and with struggles I had at home was already stressful enough for 13 year old who had to grow up at a young age . I've been admitted into a psychiatric hospital 6 times now and they just now found out I had really bad depression .

I was really sad to see how many people commenting on this video think that no one would care if they took their own lives. True, there are horrible things that happen in the world every day. There are dark moments that can make the prospect of facing the next day seem impossible. But then there are so many happy moments that can come too. Perhaps they will be few and far between, but they won't happen at all if you leave this world too early. If anyone who is in such a dark place reads this, I pray that you at least wait and get help before you commit yourself to an action which cannot be undone. I have marks on my own wrist from cutting, I understand that it is hard not to lash out impulsively and let darker emotions override the need to keep one's self from harm. But I pray that you do. I pray that you find whatever inner strength you have, and that you reach out to someone (anyone) with strength to help too. Just look at how many complete strangers on this video are encouraging others to keep living. There is kindness and love in this world. So yes, you could die and escape the pain of this life. Or you could stick around and try to improve it for yourself and others. Which seems the more responsible decision?

What if one knows there are those who care, but living hurts too much. everyday waking up and curling in a ball crying and not even knowing why. spending years at a time unable to even feel happy, or remember what happiess actually felt like, leavig your room and trying to make sure everyone else is happy, always being the one to make them smile, and returning to your room oly to cry alone uable to share how you feel with the people around you. Hurting everyday crying , unable to fight the thoughts that you just dont want to do this anymore, where thoughts of going in the woods and hanging so no oe will have to find the body, attempting suicide so many times and failing to the point you even lose hope that there is is an end at all for you. thats how i feel.

Just like millions of others who heard this song, I feel the same pain, the same loneliness, the same hopelessness, the same worthlessness, the soul crushing feeling of being unloveable. We’ve all had our battles, every single one of them giving us strength. Most of us do wonder, what if I died tomorrow? Who would come to my funeral? And most of us absolutely hate thinking about it because deep down we don’t even know the answer, we feel like no one would be there, like no one would care, and that the world would be better off, but that’s NOT true.

I used to listen to this song like everyday in 7th grade. It's insane how sad I was and how alone I felt. How depressed I really was and the unhealthy, harmful coping mechanisms I had that lasted much longer than they should have. Even now it's still something I struggle with. I started cutting when i was in 4th grade because off bullying now i'm in 8th i'm 14 now 15 in august and still fighting the pain... but I stoped cutting. Because I new there were other ways to try to hide the pain and just walk away... it's ok I know your all very strong but you've gotta believe in yourself's.. I am so madly in love with this girl, I used to write poetry, I quit but she made me want to write again. She made me so happy. I really loved her. Then one day, out of the blue, she said that her feelings changed. For no distinct reason. I think about her all the time. I don't expect anyone to care about this post or even read it. There is a reason you are here we may not know i dont even know why i am here but we are here...think about it we were given the chance to live and be here not to mention even exist, is that not worth living, you were given a gift and now you are going to take advantage of it, its not worth the death, even and if you don't believe in Christ think about this whats better living in eternal happiness or living everyday in torture, don't look at the negative it is harder than it seems but its not meant to be easy that's why after it is over it feels so great to enjoy life with out the negative things and if they never seem to get better its okay because the negative is every where but it doesn't mean we aren't strong enough to block it out, we just need to forge in brighter days and see we aren't only surrounded in the negatives but we are also being drenched in happiness but we choose to hold are umbrellas of denial i say its time to take them down and let them drop from our hands and let the happiness rain down, i don't know very much hell i'm only 15, but i know already that life is a gift and a journey and a curse at times but the greatest achievement is enjoying every minute of it, sure a few friends might care like you said but that's not true everybody would care, everyone even though they might not show it they would show it if you were gone and even after a few days they will hide it inside and it will hurt them on the inside forever, do you really wish that upon everybody that you know of, i don't, wake up everyday, get up tell your self i'm going to have a great day, chin up, cheer up ,and don't be so hard on your self, i don't even know you but i bet in person you are the coolest person ever and i hope that you will look at life like its that black hole that you probably feel it is, best of lucks man, i don't even know you but i love you as a bro.

Im now 22 and a caregiver to a women with extreme autism, found thearpy with music and it helps me as it does her, my major is music therapy. also the lord got me through some tough times in my life. But I became who I am today with the those times, I promise the pain you feel now will go away. Let it make you stronger, don't give up hope.

I've tempted, cut, got suicide watch , suide depression , but after I had my son , I knew I had to stop , yet it's one of the hardest things , to pretend to be strong n happy in front of my son even tho I still can't be as strong because everything I went threw since I was a young kid . It still triggers my mind , still opens a dark side BUUT my son is my hero!!

My parents have been divorced for 6 years now. I haven't seen my relatives from my dads side for over 7 now. I only see my dad like once or twice a year. I'm constantly bullied at my school. Ive been rejected 8 times in a row, and all of those girls have done it in a way that hurt me a lot. I have attempted suicide at least 4 times now. The only reason I haven't tried again is because I promised a very close group of friends that I wouldn't.

+Sebastian Micheals i can relate i just found out that i have two half sisters over facebook and i found out the real reason that my parents got me and my other sister and brother taken away and i know some people say its not worth it but to me it is worth it if i die because no one will care i was the invisible one in my class and no one will give two fucks if i die and i also dont have a boyfriend so i know that i am never going to get one because i am ugly. but i know that my friends will care just not everyone else and my friends arent in the same grade as me they are in a lower grade. don't call me beautiful because i am not i am soooooooooo ugly that in my whole 16 years ive only gone out with one peson and he only went out with me because he got payed twenty dollars a day and i broke up with him.
