Absurd Mind… Read Full Bio ↴"(AbsuЯd) Minds" is a futurepop music band from Germany.
Absurd Minds was formed in 1995 by Stefan Großmann (voice, composing) and Tilo Ladwig (composing, programming, sampling). Musically they were inspired by the EBM of the early 1990s.
Between 1995 and 1999, Absurd Minds released three CD-rs in limited quantities, laying the groundwork for further developments by the band. After a long creative phase their first concert took place at the Dresden club, "Bunker". As a result of this the band came into contact with "Music Cooperation" who subsequently became their management. A recording contract with the label Scanner followed in December 1999. In the meantime, Absurd Minds played in "Electromania II" in Leipzig. The recording for their first single, "Brainwash", and album, "Deception", began in January 2000.
In March, the band played live at the "Nostromo Festival" in Görlitz and opened for the "Electromania III" festival which was part of the "Wave-Gotik-Treffen" 2000. In December their second single, "Come Alive" appeared and in January 2001 they began recording the album "Damn the Lie". During this period the band took on a third member, Timo Fischer, who till then had only played as reinforcement during live performances.
Their third album "The Focus" followed in October 2003, with the singles "Master Builder" and "Herzlos" both doing well in the DAC. Another appearance at the "Wave-Gotik-Treffen" followed in 2004, whilst the fourth Absurd Minds album "Noumenon" was released in November 2005.
Currently, the most recent release from Absurd Minds is the EP "The Cycle" which was released in 2007. According to the bands' website a new album, "Serve or Suffer", is scheduled for 2010.

Absurd Minds Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Hopeless, downcast and finally depressive.
Hindrance of religion.
Hopeless, downcast and finally depression.
They chose the suicide in protest for their belief,
But living torches said: don`t think negative.
You are not your...
They burned it down.
Resurrection is a constant event.
Every five hundred years a bird will be born.
The power of the flames never gets lost,
They burned it down and he feels good and godlike.
The lyrics of the song Phoenix by Absurd Minds explore the idea of rebirth and transformation through intense suffering. The lyrics begin discussing the hindrance of belief and religion, describing how it can lead to feelings of hopelessness and depression. Despite this, some individuals still choose suicide as a form of protest for their beliefs. However, the "living torches" remind them that they are not just their beliefs - they still have their bodies.
The lyrics then shift to discuss the idea of resurrection, describing how a bird is born every five hundred years, symbolizing rebirth and renewal after intense suffering. The power of the flames is never lost, as it ultimately leads to growth and transformation. The song concludes with the idea that the burning down of old beliefs and ideas can lead to feeling godlike and triumphant.
