Their current lineup consists of Hoffmann, vocalist Mark Tornillo, guitarists Uwe Lulis and Philip Shouse, drummer Christopher Williams and bassist Martin Motnik. Before arriving at their current lineup, Accept has undergone numerous lineup changes, being Hoffmann the last remaining original member since its inception, and he is the only band member to appear on each album.
Accept played an important role in the development of speed and thrash metal, and they were part of the German heavy metal scene, which emerged in the early to mid-1980s. They have also been cited as an influence or inspiration by a number of acts, including Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Testament, Anthrax, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Overkill, Exodus, and Annihilator, as well as fellow Germans such as Helloween, Blind Guardian, Doro, Sodom, Rage, and Grave Digger. Accept achieved its first commercial success with their fifth studio album Balls to the Wall (1983), which is the band's only album to be certified gold in the United States and Canada, and spawned their well-known hit "Balls to the Wall".
Accept have broken up and reformed multiple times. They first split up in 1989, several months after the release of Eat the Heat (which was their only album with Dirkschneider's initial replacement David Reece), but reformed in 1992 and released three more albums before disbanding again in 1997. After briefly reuniting in 2005, Accept announced their third reunion in 2009, with former T.T. Quick frontman Mark Tornillo replacing Dirkschneider (who declined to participate), and the band has recorded five albums with him: Blood of the Nations (2010), Stalingrad (2012), Blind Rage (2014), The Rise of Chaos (2017) and Too Mean to Die (2021); each of those albums renewed Accept's popularity in Germany and entered the top ten charts there.

I see a city's face
Boys dressed in leather
Girls dressed in lace
See the easy riders
They're roaring down their way
They need to give full speed ahead
To keep their crazy life
They turn on the power
Get wrecked every night
Got some kind of feeling
Looking in his eyes
I feel the power surge to a head
London leatherboys
Nightmare's pleasure, what you've done
London leatherboys
All together
After all the roaring
The sound of silence scares
Girl of the leader
Cried in his arms
Don't you see the danger
When we are running wild
Please, stop the games, it's getting late
London leatherboys
Nightmare's pleasure, what you've done
London leatherboys
All together
Swearing that he would do, he could not even say
Boy dressed in leather, boy died in pain
They're the easy riders, but heroes die too fast
He was more than the best of the bunch
Best together
Lousy leather
Say what's better
All together
London leatherboys
Nightmare's pleasure, what you've done
London leatherboys
All together
London leatherboys
Nightmare's pleasure, what you've done
London leatherboys
All together

Nightmare's pleasure, what you've done

Accept's song "London Leatherboys" paints a vivid picture of the rebellious youth culture that emerged in London in the 1960s and 1970s, centered around motorcycle gangs and a love for leather and rock music. The lyrics describe the "easy riders" who drive their bikes down the streets of London, dressed in leather and lace. The song highlights the wild and dangerous lifestyle of these leather-clad boys, who live for the adrenaline rush and the thrill of rebellion. They are united by their love for motorcycles, partying, and rock music, and their disregard for societal norms.
However, the song also shows the dark side of this lifestyle. The sound of silence after all the roaring scares them, and the girl of the leader cries in his arms as he realizes the danger they face when running wild. The lyrics suggest that there is a cost to this lifestyle, and that it may lead to pain and tragedy.
Overall, "London Leatherboys" is a tribute to the rebellious youth culture that emerged in London in the 1960s and 1970s, highlighting both the excitement and danger of such a lifestyle.

His voice is like the punk version of Metal. His range is phenomenal. But not artificial.

His voice here, the singing style, and the song's entire sound give me vibes of a musical cocktail with the following ingredients: AC/DC, Judas Priest, Motörhead. Such a nice mixture!
