Ace Troubleshooter came to an abrupt end in February 2005 when lead singer John Warne left to play bass for Relient K. Toby David posted the announcement of the Ace's death on the band's message board, mentioning that even though he was not an original member of the band, he felt like he was. It has been said that Ace was starting to fall apart as it was, and they were not going anywhere, which may have led to the band's split.
The Ace Troubleshooter lineup changed several times; even Relient K former drummer Dave Douglas filled in as a guitarist for a short time. Only two original members remained when the band came to an end. Those two members, John Warne and Josh Abbott, both played in the short-lived band Guerilla Rodeo shortly before Ace's death. While John Warne went on to play for Relient K, Josh Abbott went on to play for My Red Hot Nightmare.

You go on getting leaner
As they dearly sell you anodynes and death
And you're restless
Have you knocked at all the doors?
And can you feel at all
It's all you can do to go on breathing?
I'd do anything, anything at all
To get you, won't forget you
On the other side
Over here
Here, my friend, take some of mine
It's freely given
And will cost you everything you have
But drink, my cup runs over
Have you knocked at all the doors?
Have you knocked at all?
It's all you can do to go on waking
And I can't stand by
I'd do anything, anything at all
To get you, won't forget you
On the other side
Over here it's clearer
As your mirror shows
The song "Anything" by Ace Troubleshooter is a powerful declaration of the depth of love and compassion that can exist between two people. The lyrics are filled with a sense of urgency as the singer pleads with someone, addressed as "lassitude," to keep fighting for their life, even as they grow weaker and the world around them seems to offer them only false comforts and quick escapes. The singer acknowledges that they cannot simply stand by and watch this person suffer, and they offer themselves as a source of strength and support, even if it means sacrificing everything they have.
The song is musically intense, with soaring guitar lines and a driving rhythm that matches the emotional weight of the lyrics. The chorus is especially powerful, as the singer repeats their commitment to helping this person, no matter what it takes. Overall, "Anything" is a stirring and emotional song that speaks to the power of human connection and the need to support one another through difficult times. Its lyrics are deeply empathetic and filled with a sense of urgency, making it a compelling and memorable track.
