Prologo
Achillea Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Dicen, que de todos los animales de la creación,
el hombre es el único

que bebe sin tener sed,
come sin tener hambre
y habla sin tener nada que decir.
Por eso es mejor forjar el alma
que amueblarla.

Es el fin del Camino, es Finisterra.

Overall Meaning

In these lines, Achillea's song Prologo begins with an interesting observation about human behavior. The lyrics suggest that among all the creatures on earth, humans are the only ones who consume food and drink even when they don't feel hungry or thirsty. Furthermore, humans also tend to engage in conversations without any specific purpose or point to be conveyed. The song implies that these instincts, i.e., eating, drinking, and speaking, are inherent to human nature. However, it also suggests that since humans have the ability to reason and shape their existence, unlike other creatures, they should focus on developing their inner selves instead of just satisfying their primitive instincts.

The lyrics further emphasize that instead of materialistic possessions and worldly pursuits, humans should prioritize nourishing their souls. The line "Por eso es mejor forjar el alma que amueblarla" (it's better to forge the soul than to furnish it) suggests that spiritual enrichment is more valuable than material wealth. This statement implies that the journey of self-discovery is more important than the destination.

Finally, the last line "Es el fin del Camino, es Finisterra" (It is the end of the road, it is Finisterre) brings the song's main message to a closure. It is suggestive of the final destination in a metaphysical sense, where humans will achieve complete self-realization and elevate beyond the physical world.
