The song No Man's Land by Active Member is a commentary on the state of the world, where life is cheap, and people are asleep as they consolidate but don't want to share. The lyrics start with a self-referential confession that the singer is guilty of sins that the flesh commits but still feels blessed. He recognizes that he is the son of his mother and a proud man who owns his destiny, but no one can own the land or the air. The song then goes on to describe the idea that No Man's Land is everybody's land, where there's no master.
The chorus speaks of the path that has been there all along. The path is the one that time has laid and takes us to the land of nobody, but we know we are never far from home. The singer is referring to the idea that he and the people are universal and are always in the zone. He encourages listening clearly to a lesson about what we see is what we reap. He states that in these times where life is cheap, individuals with dirty hands like Rodney P and Foxmoor must work the land with pride. The song's title "No Man's Land" was taken from the same-titled poem by Ezra Pound. Still, the group's name, Active Member, is formed from a combination of words that stand for movement, activism, and comprehension.
